Max is the only sax player I listen lately, he sounds so old and so melodic, not something you hear today among the young sax players...Max can also destroy it in more modern vibe too, just an amazing musician.

You do Hank Mobley proud, he would approve!

Posso essere d'accordo con il commento di Pedro C.. Sono sempre sorpreso dalle improvvisazioni energiche e melodiche di Max su questi vecchi standard. Conferma la mia opinione che i jazzisti creativi possano sempre esprimersi in modo molto attuale, anche su temi vecchi. Ma ho anche dei suggerimenti per la band: in quasi tutte le registrazioni di questo quartetto, il pianoforte è mescolato troppo piano. Amo anche il gioco di Luca Mannutza. Soprattutto dovrebbe essere più vicino alla parte anteriore del coro del pianoforte e Francesco Puglisi, il contrabbassista, dovrebbe tirare un po' di più davanti al ritmo. Allora oscillerebbe come un diavolo.

How wonderful that you’re playing Mobley, Max! I think Mobley is a very underrated tenor player, while imho his music and his playing are so elegant, sophisticated and stylish. And now one of my favourites is playing one of my favourites! 😃 Sounds great as always, thank you for the beautiful music, Max & group!

Thank you very much for playing in honor of Hank Mobley, one my absolute favorites. HIs solo with Miles Davis and Coltrane on "Someday My Prince Will Come" is so lyrical and beautifully phrased--it keeps going though my head today, many years after I first heard it.
