Thats a different problem, not sure its cutting weight yet. Could be a longterm problem, dont think he got a concussion in fight week:( Good for the fans to swing at each other in the middle of the ring, bad for yourself. Fight/train smart is the way to go, but probably to late by now:(

He has a concussion and tried to fight through it because he is a warrior. Ive had concussions and if you have some symptoms and try to fight through it too hard, it can make it worse which explains why he was hard to wake up and vision was messed up. Likely he just needs a few months rest then he can get back to light training but he should avoid getting hit for awhile. Concussions are different for everyone TJ Grant had a title shot lined up and got concussed and never fought again

Another PPV card falling apart. They wonder why sales are down. Five fights at 60 dollars is 12 bucks a fight. This was a co-main that fans want to see. They'll move a prelim up to the main card. Time the UFC starts giving refunds to fan. Twenty dollars making this buy 39.95 . Do the right thing quit taking advantage of your base. I hope Max comes away clean, but its nothing to do with fans . So quit shafting them.

Find Ortega an opponent and put an interim on the line, he deserves at least that much. Max pulled out of the Frankie fight and Ortega stepped in and had a memorable performance. Pulled vs Khabib short notice and now this 3rd pullout in a row, I love Max and dont think he should be stripped but you gotta give Ortega something.. if we are playing the interim game in UFC this seems like as good a time as any.

Being active should be a part of being champion. If you have one incident, like a shoulder or knee surgery fair enough.. but it can't be something that happens 2 or 3 times in a row.. and it's not even personal if you strip them. It's not because you do or don't like them.. it's because the sport is more important than any one individual.. even if it's Conor.

That's never in your best interest. If you lose to the guy you won't get another title shot for awhile. Interim meant more three years ago, means little today. Ortega's team already said there is little interest in doing so

Its only happened twice, and its not like he held back the division, Max had beaten everyone prior to his pull out vs Frankie, so it didn't hurt anyone, only one who got hurt was frankie taking a risk and losing to ortega. Connor held back the division for quite a while, so did jose, Max has no reason to have the belt stripped from him, again it happened twice, and there wasn't much impact as far as hurting the division and holding fighters back.

IMO Max should retire. He's only 26 years of age he already has somewhat of a slurred speech and now legit CTE symptoms, Its just gonna get worse for him if he keeps fighting cause he is gonna take damage and what if he gets knocked out or takes alot of damage and gets put to coma? He's either gonna die or be paralyzed, its just playing with fire. Hope he gets well soon and wish him a speedy recovery.

Zeox Plays The truth. Boxing is more dangerous than MMA. Please don’t say “MMA has elbows and knees, boxing only has punching”. In boxing, the head is mostly targeted. In MMA, a lot of targets are there for the fighters. Ground game, submissions etc. Also in boxing, the amount of punches thrown over 12 rounds is much worse for your brain than in MMA, as the accumulation of punches thrown is more likely to cause internal bleeding on your brain. Also there are more deaths in boxing than MMA. Etc.

I have a feeling that it is going to come out that Holloway's symptoms are due to him discontinuing a medicine, such as the sleeping aid, Ambien. I know of a guy ( pro bodybuilder, Dom Cardone), who dealt with essentially the exact same symptoms. He cut the pills about 5 days out from the show and had slurred speech, insomnia, dizziness, lathery..etc. Just like Holloway. Let's hope that he is okay and it isn't a case of him being 'punched out'.

Ray Ward - Crappy to hear that you had to deal with that. Yeah man, lots of medicines that you would never expect to give you withdrawals can and do. Although, that is better than CTE, pugilistic dementia or severe post concussion syndrome would be a lot worse in the long run. Especially since Holloway is so young. I hope that it is only something like a medicine or something minor. For years, people have been speculating and even anticipating the head trauma 'victims of mma' to start popping up. Other than Gary Goodridge (and some speculate Chuck Liddell), there really haven't been any publicized high profile cases. Let's hope that Holloway isn't one of them.

Well i may be wrong but im going to say that its due to weight cutting for max, i think that even saying its concussion is possibly a cover up because of all the drama about weight cutting recently, max is a big 45r and not long ago was gearing up to fight khabib at 55, maybe just stretched himself out to where he cant come back down to.

I hope Max is ok but if he sits out the rest of the year, he shouldn't keep the belt. It's too common for champs in the last year or two, to milk the time.. delay fights, pull out.. and still call themselves champ. When was the last time he fought? Props to GSP for just handing it over straight away. Max's health comes first but if he doesn't fight until 12 months from now.. that's fine.. but don't call yourself champ. Let others sort it out, and then come back and get your belt back.

Yes, McGregor held the belt hostage for 2 years AND EVERYONE hated it. Zabit has crazy potential and is rumored to give Frankie Edgar trouble in the gym. Any other match-up is not really all that exciting for Ortega. And it doesnt have to be for a belt, it could just be a regular fight, but knowing the ufc, they love to give out interim titles to make the ppvs more shiny.

Zabit is already fighting Yair, plus he hasn't done anything to get a title shot. One or two big wins might bag you a title shot, but he hasn't even beat anyone in the rankings yet. There's probably people who don't even know who he is. Aldo ain't the same anymore, he's mentally defeated since Conor, then he lost twice to Max, he's past it now. I think Jeremy Stephens is probably a fair replacement, people say Frankie Edgar but he literally got knocked out by Brian Ortega like 2 months ago at the most.
