I didn't know I needed this in my life. But I do. Has anyone send this to him yet or should I just show it to him?

Anyone have any good leg workout plans? I'm squatting once a week, but I'd like to see what other fencers are doing.

Jeffrey Stevens I actually think training hamstrings and calves is just as important as training quads for fencing even though most guys neglect them. Try hamstring curls and calf raises.

Explosive jumping exercises would be a good idea, because just strength training does not necessarily train explosive strength and acceleration. Swimming is nice as cardio, especially because your knees take quite a beating with fencing. Functional weighted exercises (like with the cable machine) and resistance band also provide a better stimulus than weights alone. There are some articles on blogs like betterfencer.com and other, on weight training specifically.

Hamstrings - single leg deadlifts Calves - calf raises Quads - scissor lunges / pistol squats as well as standard squats Explosive power - lots of work on agility ladders and mini-hurdles Note: listening to German metal is optional. I prefer Miles Davis.
