Max Cavalera and his son Igor Cavalera are taking their band GO AHEAD AND DIE on their first US tour entitled the 'Unhealthy Mechanisms Tour 2024' (started on January 19th in Tuscon and will make its way across the U.S. making stops in Dallas, Brooklyn, and Seattle before concluding in Jerome, Arizona on March 24th). Opening each night will be Florida death metal slam band, BODYBOX as well as SECOND SHOOTER (Jan. 19-28), HALF HEARD VOICES (Feb. 7-22), MADZILLA (Mar. 1-10), and DEEP WITHIN (Mar. 11-24).
I sat down with the legendary Metalhead of Cavalera Conspiracy, Soulfly, Nailbomb, and ex-Sepultura to discuss the tour, new Soulfly album, and family!

Really looking forward to the next Soulfly album. Ritual and Totem are the best since the first 2, imo.

@@BelgianJasper I really like the openers; Ritual and Superstition. I also love something a bit different or original-sounding so I'd go for Demonized, Totem and Spirit Animal, possibly Blood On The Street too.. but I think the standard of the songs overall is very high on those albums. I couldn't choose a week song. How about you?

@@BelgianJasper Yep, hard to argue with that. Interestingly, I personally think the last 2 Sepultura albums, Machine Messish and Quadra were a big step up too. I wonder if there's a bit of competition there..

Not sure if Max has ever followed any rule in his life, so this new album wouldn't change a lot about this point 😎But a girl inSoulfly, wow, that's revolutionary !

I guess eventually we'll simply have "The Cavalera Tribe" with elderly Max and Iggor playing with all the kids and grandkids in one band Kelly Family style 🤘🤘🤘

@@BelgianJasperwell, that's possible ! But only Max will play the guitar with double fretboard (if he still does it on stage, it blew my mind when I saw this, and had to wonder WTH they put in my water - never drink alcohol but still legit metalhead 😇🤘) !

I’ve listened to the first track and the last trac and No Easy Way Out… I will try to get this record. Igor is a beast. Max looks & sounds (in the interview) healthy 🙏 Stay stronger than HATE 🤘

@@paulcalvert2099Aggy was Igor Amadeus’s(Max’s son) wife. Danny Gonzalez is a guitarist in Possessed and was a guitarist for Cavalera Conspiracy and Cavalera. They hired Danny after Marc quit. Aggy looks so much more healthier, more beautiful, and happier now that she isn’t with Igor anymore.
