OMG! Hope DJI Care refresh could cover the damage. Did you fly in Sport mode? The obstacle avoidance would be turned off after switching to Sport mode. Thanks for sharing!

Man now that's a really bad day. But like you said, learn from it and move forward. Life has no reverse gear really other than reflecting on what went wrong. Sorry about the Mavic 3 and the RC Pro. I have both and haven't flown it much yet because the GPS takes so stinking long to connect! So for now my channel is mostly Mavic 2 Pro stuff for my wife's in my vlogs. Lesson learned: seeing picture on ur remote is never enough. ALWAYS maintain VLOS. Tho it IS a bit disconcerting the Mavic 3's 360-obstacle avoidance didn't alert. 🤨

Yeah hindsight says useing aspotter may have avoided the crash. These drones sometimes hit hard. I know my comment doesn't help. :(

Factors that affect performance are the altitude you were flying at, temperature, and yeah the sports mode messed it up you lost all use of your sensors. Ive seen to many videos on sports mode crashes its not idea unless you have complete open space, I wouldn't even try this in a city because of so many power poles and what not. Its okay we all learn from our mistakes.

Was it still in sports mode? I’m just curious why obstacle avoidance didn’t kick in? Of course, if you were in sports mode that would explain it 😝. Thanks for sharing your mishap. It helps us all get better.
