and those of us who don’t have 30k laying around for a sweetsweet sxs or access to trails where you apparently don’t have to worry about other people traveling in the opposite direction

I know some aren't fans but, radios do come in handy for just this situation. Polaris ride command works excellent also 😆, either way you guys made another awesome vid 👏

We use Polaris ride command on our trips. Works awesome and you don't need to have a Polaris to use it. It's also free witch is nice

@Mike HFor a few people in my prerunner group and S×S group just don't wanna get radios. I don't know why, but they are usually the one's we gotta go find and I assume that's normal across the states. No malcontent intended..

@@nedvisser3558 yes it's very handy and if your going somewhere you dont have service you can download the area before you get there and it works just as normal

You definitely should. I just got back yesterday from my first Drummond rip and I had a blast. My stock ‘99 Ford Ranger did pretty good and was decent on the rocks. Didn’t make it out to Shale Beach though because there was some deep water that the Ranger wasn’t suited for. I’ll do some changes and try it again next year. I understand why you guys love this place, there’s so much good riding out there.

Hey Doug if you get a hold of Brad Blair on FB he has a radio shop and they are no bigger the a cell phone and water proof .I use them in the mountains and we have no problems 5 miles away from each other. You will lose each other again.

been there done that with a group getting divided usually on sleds. fortunately with a couple of people in each who knew the area well. ended up meeting up one time end of the day when they all ran out of fuel after skipping a fuel stop and filling them off our spare gas to get back

Well we know why Mikes been missing lately 🤣 Good for him!

Man after all this time! Still no spare tires, no tools, and no radios… please never change 😂

I went to Drummond years ago on a dirt bike. I swore that island was sinking by the time we left.

On trail 8 I hit a water hole to fast and blew out both center console side panels, and picked up 2 frogs...

Some of the best rides ever can be had in the cold and pouring rain.

Download Polaris command on your phone, works great for sleds and not too bad for sxs. Better than nothing for sure though. At least you can see where you are. Just like maps though you need cell reception when you start it up. If you leave your phone on gps will keep it working

You can save the maps offline. With GPS on, it’s pretty reliable even with zero service. We ride the same spots here in MI as these guys (albeit all on quads) and it’s been pretty reliable. Honestly the biggest issue we’ve found so far is that that the DNR changed maps so frequently that Ride Command’s info can be outdated.

I am extremely surprised you guys don't run with radios and satellite phones. You have gone to some pretty remote places. And for your future adventures I hope you guys will get a set for your rigs so you don't lose any again.

Nick either get a iPad or use you phone and get the ride command app. You can set up a group and see where everyone is.

You guys should look at communications stuff like radios, garmin inreach (which some even come with gps including trail maps) or even just some navigation stuff to not get lost.

So, fer what it's worth, this was great. Seeing you guys doing what we all love, with your ladies clearly enjoying it too, well...it works. Drummond looks like a great place to get away, and that is at the core of the sport, ride, spend time together, laugh, makes me want to call the gang and put a ride together. Unfortunately, our group is waiting to see if the whole dang countryside is gonna burn up, so that is out. Worrying about evacuating kinda mucks up the head space, ya know... Seriously tho...these trips, the fun in the garage, the dune runs, this is what hooked me to you guys all those years ago, and I think the first Drummond trip was when I signed up with Patreon. Someday I want to hook up with you guys out west someplace and maybe make a Raceday to camp and meet ya'all. Would like to time it to where I can arrive early and have some go fast parts installed at the same time. Sorry for rambling...needed the distraction tonight.Thank you.
