i love how even though in the way he speaks and writes there is this cynicism and distance, you can still feel such strong emotions. i love how through his alienated way of writing- presenting ideas more than writing pure feelings, he still manages to provoke feelings that are so strong and sincere (to me at least)
@bubbllehead6019
4 жыл бұрын
it's the palpable struggle that's present in almost all of their recent stuff. the struggle of renouncing that cynicism and distance and being subsumed under the weight and the consequences of being sincere. everything he says and writes is relatable cause he says and writes as he goes and he doesn't just reflect on things that have happened/happened to him that he's made his peace with, so i totally agree with you on this.
Everytime I hear Matty talking about his music I feel we shouldn't take ourselves so serious

I love that he explained the 1975 intros how he did, and I could never put it to words how it made me felt. He hit the head on the nail with it sounding like the start of a video game or checking in. It gives me the feeling or preparation to going into a new realm/world of the 1975 whenever I hear the first intro song.

i love it when matty just stares at me blankly as his music plays in the background
matty healy's music and the 1975 in general connect with me in a way no other band does. the lyrical turmoil packaged into a song you just want to dance to; leaving it up to the listeners to decide whether they want to press pause in introspect or keep dancing. poignant, especially when trying to tap into those raw feelings of growing up.
when he said "this is the last the 1975 record for ages" my heart dropped but i'm excited for what's next stiill :(

I felt how he said he didn’t appreciate what he had at the moment.. just the fact that I didn’t appreciate being able to go outside and have fun without a mask or without always being scared of getting a disease.. like being more care free in a way
I wish more people spoke with such conviction about their art.
8:00 " we are going trough the same thing, we just have diffrent hair and stuff" QUOTED
He's a REAL artist. Everything on their albums are intentional, have a story, and that's what I like about the 1975. They make me feel alive.
a lot of people would be sad knowing the 1975 won't make music for a while but we have so many good albums to jam out to for the next billion years, I think I'll survive. I hope I can see them live again sometime soonish. :)
hmmm matty said they would use the simple cover as the final one yet on Spotify we have the yellow black form one
@baileykrause14
4 жыл бұрын
i saw something that said for physical copies the simple cover was more eco-friendly to produce than the one that we have on digital versions
I love like when he just speaks through his lyrics they sound so simple that maybe anyone can replicate them. But he’s simply mastered the art of conversational lyrics and every time I write “she said” it feels like plagiarism.
Matty crying shows how much he loves what he does!! I wanna cry with him :):
“feels like this album should be in a paper bag” 😭 that took me out
A brief inquiry of Matty's evolution as an artist
just passing by to say: you guys are the best thing that ever happened to me... 🖤
I'm so grateful to live in the prime time of the 1975. To know that this band has and is changing people's lives every day is something I can't wrap my head around. I recently understood that it's not just about the music Matty literally took on that responsibility to connect with us on a much deeper level. And at the same time having to embrace the fear of being vulnerable, misjudged, and observed, while battling with internal baggage like introspection and self-awareness. All the love to you Matty.
this man is so smart and charming and the way his passion shines every time he talks about his art and art in general, I'm-
the first album will always be the best
It's so comforting knowing Matty feels the exact same way with the debut album as me. Youthful. Teenage Romance
