As a nurse I hate eggcrate foam, just little pockets to hold dirt and nasties.

If it helps those that have it or both really basically using in handheld cleaner mode a kirby vacuum cleaner is an effective tool for the removal of as much dust and mites as can be pulled out of the upholstery and mattress etc. Also if it is not too heavy for you to use because it is about 20 or 22 pounds of weight imperial usa but yeah so no a light vacuum but it does the job and is rebuilt compatible if sent in so it lasts for decades and can be inheirited from generations past. Luckily it hwen bought used is easily had for the cost of a walmart vacuum.. but that way it is still a metal sturdy built macjine for years.. so you will save money over the decades... and with the sane hepa filtration of a dyson but with the hygiene of a bagged cleaner and more airflow than even with a full bag.. the dyson when the kirby bag is even at full line.

Supposedly (I heard from someone who worked for a manufacturer of these types of beds) the egg crate foam design was made to "sleep better without any additional benefits but act as sort of a placebo effect", I live in the US.

No way there’s no air pockets when a body is laid across a full mattress. Air ‘flow’? No. Flat like regular foam? Also no!

in the build of a mattress the egg crate foam doesn't get fully compressed, this is highly inaccurate

Hilarious. We put egg crate foam on all our mattress's, everyone comments on how wonderful they sleep when they stay over. More to the point, expensive mattress's are a scam, a half decent mattress with egg crate foam is the bomb. You don't need to spend thousands.

It’s not half the foam. It’s textured on the top. The rest of the foam is still there. If you think mattress companies started getting custom cut foam to save money you’re a crazy person.

Actually. I had the same thought.... till I looked it up. The foam IS cut in half in the egg crate foam shape. I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around exactly how the machine cuts it. But it does.

They engineered a more cost effective injection mould that covers more space and requires less mass, not particularly crazy.
