Primality
Sometimes the internet can be a wonderful thing. On March 8th I received a message on Instagram that blew yours truly right off the chair. The absolutely fantastic B.C. Manjunath, whom I had adored and respected for years, wrote to me and said he... was an admirer of my work (!) Needless to say, I went bananas and bombarded master B.C. Manjunath (or Manju as I now call him) with praise and love for his tremendous understanding of time. Manju is so next level it hurts.
What followed was a whole lot of brotherly writing and Zoom meetings. Manju really wanted to do a collaboration of some sorts. He didn't have to ask twice.
So, after completing the daunting (yet wonderful and inspiring) task of finishing all the vast material for this summer's Freak Guitar Camp I put the composer helmet back on and went to work. Very quickly a structure in 89/16 popped up in my Viking skull and I built the majority of the tune around this rhythm (21/16 x 3, 13/16 x 2). If anyone could groove over this with both konnakol and the mridangam and make it sound like the most natural thing in the world, it would be B.C. Manjunath.
I got all the files from Manju and went into mixing and video editing mode right away. I felt so extremely honored as I was tweaking the audio and chopping the footage, hour by hour, and I still have to pinch myself in the arm. This really happened.
Sometimes the internet can be a wonderful thing...

Totally freaked out on this music! When this came I listened on Spotify until my ears were all sweaty and I had to let the earphones dry. His music... His music requires active listening, you don't turn it on when doing the dishes. It is "difficult" because it demands something from the listener. That is probably the biggest reason why I love Mattia's music. ❤
Man, that was GREATTTTTT 🎵🎵🎧🎧🤘🤘📈📈
You do realise half your audience was content with what you were doing, this is unbelievably next level....
Wao,, this is called technical difficulties...
I'm truly baffled and amazed by this, everything sounds so natural and groovy, two amazing musicians combining their love for music. Wonderful collaboration, now we want more haha!
Awesome! Thank you!
I love this music!!! It is "difficult" because it demands something from the listener. That is probably the biggest reason why I love Mattia's music. Pens Organist

Just yesterday my jaw dropped because of norwegians, one Leprous solo caught me off guard, and now a swede and indian made my jaw drop. He's so good I kept going "what did I just hear, you can't do that" all over the song.
Two of my favorites together!

It's a tongue twister in the almost forgotten dialect of Milano, Italy. It's about a shoe repairman that goes into another shoe repaierment shop and asks for his heels to be reattached. TRANSLATION from Milanes dialect: You that reattach the heels reattach my heels, I will not reattach any heels to you reattach them by yourself, you that reattach the heels.
So f* mind blowing🤯
👏👏🔥🔥
Да, классно! Недавно выучил свой первый коннакол на 12 тактов: Ха ха Дин та Кита ха Дин та Тита ката Гади гана...
Greatness, amazing and perfect! My friend told me had met you while you was at Ringkøb in Norway, Bodø. Pretty cool. Keep pushing this kind of music. Pretty nice, and have a great day!
Fantastic playing, plus this is an awesome track! Would be great to get a little bit of insight about how exactly it works rhythmically.
so cool
There needs to be a longer version of this and it slowly fades into Phantoms by Meshuggah 😅
That was crazy, I will be spending the rest of my day trying to decode this xd.
WOW
This has mad Gordian Knot vibes and I am ALL about it
Holy shit.
