u wot m8 As to the Pirate Theme, look up the opening to the Black Sails television series, they have a great opening and use the hurdy gurdy there as well. As for the "bee" sound, that's called a drone.

So it's like an accordian? NO MAN it's got, like, 7 strings on it. So it's like a violin then? NO, none of that bow bullshit. This has got a fucked up wheel spinning in it and you spin it with a crank on the bottom. You're drunk. No such instrument could be built. Yes I am. And I built it yesterday.

Maybe I'll hit the string with some wooden blocks. Yeah, that's go good. I'll put it in the church so we don't have to hear my shrew of a wife." "Tobias, you're drunk. You can't just put a wheel on some strings. I'll sound terrible, and the church services are far too long already." "I can't? I already did it."

+Xanatrix Zadare Must not take much to make you laugh. I though it was too easy of a joke. Actually surprised that he went for it.

Kairos Raider I try to be a merry person. It's mostly the LSD part; having done it myself, I understand perfectly.

The Hurdy Gurdy is over a thousand years old. It is called zanfona in Gallician Portuguese. It figured prominently in the middle ages & was a main instrument of the Troubadours. It can be found all over Europe in folk traditions from Poland & Hungary to France & Spain. Check out videos on KZread by German Diaz, Gregory Jolivet & Efren Lopez.

Most of it is bulgarian folklore. (odd time signatures, phrasing, harmony, ornamentation) Instrument in this particular piece kinda resembles bulgarian bagpipes. The composition even has the theme from a popular folk song "Devojko mari hubava". Мистерията на българските гласове-Девойко мари хубава

Very beautiful music!. I recommend you listen to "Himno Gallego (solo de zanfona) por Eloy Vázquez" played with his hurdy-gurdy.
