Matthias Dandois blurs the line between flat and street through his constant progression and creativity. He was crowned the world’s best BMX flatlander in October 2008 - some feat for the then 19-year-old. But the victory was the culmination of six years hard work in the sport. Matthias began life riding street but in 2002 he saw someone riding flatland in his local skatepark, and fancied his chances.

that 540 Cab was also sick. he is a really fantastic rider.
It's like he's dancing with his bike... awesome!
So talented!!!!!! Such beautiful fluidity of his riding without looking like he's trying. Just amazing

I was into this style of freestyle bmx back over 25yrs ago .. I so miss doing some of the things your doing ... I would love to be young again on my Redline Rl -22 .. nice video to watch .. brings me back my freedom days ...lol

You seem to forget the main one: the gym where you learned discipline 3 times a week for almost 3 years. Without this help and equipment you would probably make ping pong! lol

please put some blades on that bike and hit the ice!!! but use the lineage master, that way when the lights hit it the frame can bling.
How can he ride backwards without the free-wheel blocking him? Normally you have to pedal backwards to prevent that.

It is called a freecoaster, I don't know the specific mechanics but I believe it has something to do with a clutch engage system, I tend to stick to cassette hubs when I ride because I find them more responsive than freecoasters personally.

It's weird how this dude is so talented and cool but yet he's not like in the popular culture like Tony Hawk or Ryan Sheckler or Rob Dyrdek I guess France has a different way of looking at things
