You realize how great January is as an actress by watching her in interviews. She is SOOO different from Betty. In mannerisms, posture, even the voice and inflections! It's like there's no Betty there at all. It's rare that you see an actor morph into a completely (in every way) different person for their role. Love January :)

The moderator Caryn James talking about how Betty wasn’t happy back to January Jones around 26:40 and not listening at all was a terrible look. Love Matthew but she addressed all her questions to him and didn’t do a good job moderating this discussion and treating her female guests like equal participants.

You sir are an idiot. And It's a good performance, but when you see what an empty headed ditz and valley girl she is in real life, (go look at a recent talk show appearance) it really shows that twits like you can't separate the show from ACTUAL reality. Is she more likeable on the show, Sure. The performance on that show had a lot of direction they can't make the most vapid and idiotic child look like a saint.

I will always have a special place in my heart for Mad Men. It was the first newer television series I watched after not watching TV for like 10 years. I was floored by the level of writing, acting, production and characterizations, plus I grew up in the 60s and I have a great interest in 60s history. It is noteworthy that Gary Oldman was a huge fan of the show. Also, it was the first time a series ended and I felt so sentimental about missing the characters, and not only the characters, but also the world they inhabited.

My father left for the clients daughter that looked like his daughter, who instead of being disinherited inherited the beach house on the bluffs of Southern California. It’s worth 6 million today, but they zeroed out on that too. Madmen was like seeing that period not as an 8 year old, or 13 year old but the back story of all that was going on. Everyone in the block saw their parents get divorced except the WWII boys, a Jewish couple, and my Mormon Orthodontist. 🧡

I mean, isn't it sadder that he cheats on Megan since she knows the truth about his past and still lives him unconditionally whereas Betty only lived the idea of him? I honestly thought it was his lie that caused him to cheat on Betty. I thought he would see his mistresses so that he could be his dick Whitman self with someone. But he's that way with Megan and he's still cheating. Isn't that sadder?

He cant be alone but he cant be with any one either. And the naiveté and ego when people think Im rich enough or beautiful enough or so young or so charismatic and “in” on whats gone on before that this same person wont lie to me or cheat on me or take advantage of me... to not realize who the person is by thinking of yourself as an automatically overcoming influence for them... As refreshing as an attitude of Im already bored of your past and am only focused on you now is, when the other person’s past is so integral to them in the present, that approach is not going to work. His past wasnt in the past and Megan didnt give it the relevance it required, perhaps because a twenty year old isnt likely to know any better, which can be precisely the draw for a man of a different generation fooling himself into thinking he will automatically be different with a fresh chance without any of the persistent effort change requires.

Matthew Weiner gives a bigoted kick to all Catholic women and it gets a laugh. Nobody even mentions it here in the comments. In American society, where every word one utters is carefully weighed so as to not offend, I am a bit surprised that there was silence here. Is he so brilliant, that whatever he says is beyond criticism? I personally am not sensitive to his opinions, but I am surprised that a video with nearly 40k hits has not made his comment more of a topic.

I was surprised they didn't have Don bring home a case of the clap or some such STD You know he would blame it on a dirty toilet seat or a house keeper not changing the sheets in a hotel room.

January Jones is gorgeous. Only Jessica Pare can match her, and sometimes (depending on the angle) be the most beautiful woman alive.

Don doesn't know how to change. One has to understand, those brought up in the manner in which Don was, doesn't KNOW how to change. He's a broken man. He's also compulsive: especially, bedding all these women. It 's between fantasy, and hiding his pain, his past, and his demons more less. He seems secure in who is. Then again, he really isn't. He didn't want Meagan acting nor Betty. For difference reasons with Betty. Because the people really didn't want her. Meagan being younger and having no responsibilities. Don was a little threatened by that. He thought he could just mold her in what in wanted. Am I wrong? I don't think so.
