Later in life he devoted himself to caring for others. What a great man.
He rose from the ashes to become a great fighter, what resilience and perseverance. More power to you. I know you will be missed.
One of the most exciting fighters of his era, lots of action and full of determination. His fights were epic at the least, never a dull moment, there will never be another Saad Muhammad. Rest in Power champ 🥊💯
What a fighter! He has a great legacy, and there is no dollar amount for that. Definitely one of the top Light Heavyweights ever.
Saad rest in peace, I was 17 when I first started watching him fight. He became my hero in boxing. Being from Philly, myself made it even more special. Miss you Saad Muhammad world Champion !
A great great man a great great champion one of my favorite fighters god bless you mat
I grew up in Philadelphia. He was our hero!
It's tragic. He began life alone and abandoned, and died alone and abandoned. At least in between he was able to become a world champion, something most of us will never get to experience.

What an absolute legend. Great fighter.
Back around 1979-1981 this guy was the best.
What a great interview. He will be remembered for sure.
What a phenomenal warrior. Dwight Muhammad Qawi, Marvin Johnson, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Yaqui Lopez, Victor Galindez, Rossman, Scott, Martin, Conteh and of course, the great Michael Spinks...these men made this a glorious time for the light-heavies. Thank you so much Mr. Fennell for taking the time to recognize this great champion. RIP, Saad...you are missed but still loved.

Best friend TV boxing ever had.
Great champ, inspiration, wishing him everything good!
Miracle Matt. His attitude is just incredible. Dude is talking about him being abandoned and Matt says there were plently of good times too. This guy was never anybody's victim. Compare him with today's homeless who think its their god given right to slam dope on the sidewalk because they had a tough time growing up.
Great interview
Tough, dignified man

Saw Saad on North Broad St. while I was a graduate student at Temple in 1983. Was a huge fan, did a brief double take, then after he walked past me, I saw his name on the back of his workout outfit and I knew my eyes were not deceiving me. I hope he is off the canvas for good now, he still has the personal charm he had in his prime
the greatest action fighter of the late '70s and early '80s....
Great fighter in all the description!
inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun, Brother Saad Muhammad
Miss you buddy. Rest easy
Unfortunate for a man of such great legacy. Rip Saad Muhammad!
I saw Matthew out on his feet in several of his fights where he came back to win by KO...always an exciting fight...
A shame cruiserweight was not around. Saad Muhammad must have death camped dieted to 175. A lovely man by all accounts. Very generous.
One of the easiest to root for and most inspiring boxers EVER! (more than the fictional Rocky Balboa) 🤩
Awesome fighter👌with a big hart, was a davestating puncher😲,and man,he had a great chin too(my goodness😳)........was a real gentleman, in and outside the ring👍(did manny things for others, and some take advantage of it😡😢(and is now doing good things with homeless people, even having a hard time, himself👏),and is one of the greatest light heavyweights of all times,so not,the greatest(surrely for me🤙)........you'll be missed champ😔😥,i hope you have a good life there above, and more luck than you had here🤞........RIP🙏 CHAMP🥊,YOU'LL BE REMEMBERED (SURRELY BY ME)👊💪
13th and South...Saigon. We will miss you Ice.

Rest in peace Champ.
Boxing eats people up and spits them out; its not the punches, its the corruption. Too many elite level fighters have ended up with nothing but slurred speech. As much as I dislike Dana White's attitude, he's probably what boxing needs; a czar.
Got tired of the beatings. Unbelievable.
That’s one hard life.
R.I.P Muhammad... and go watch Art Fennell "Country Style "
It looks as if he has his health..good to see.
Theres another video on here where Saad threw out the first pitch at a Phillies game just a year before his death. He looked good. ALS strikes and debilitates very quickly.
Now he is officiating the battle between gissum and the dragon
At this point, Saad Muhammad's speech was only slightly impaired, and his personality intact, but his memory was badly damaged.
Rip
That is some fucked up shit..."go get rid of him" and he was dump on "Franklin Roosevelt Prkwy" and he was named after the street they found him on, like you would do a stray dog that was found.
