yeah, hearing him talk about his whole reasoning and construction of the gravity zombie trap, on talks machina was intriguing. hope there's more stuff like that in this book. can't wait

It disappointed me because it was a canned trap from the late 70's :(

Totally gonna buy this, though probably just to look deeper into Matt Mercer's brain and the lore of his world. I don't think I'd feel capable of running a campaign in Tal'Dorei.

That's malarkey! It's really easy to run any setting, because you're the DM and you can make whatever stories you want! That's the whole point, you silly goose.

I disagree! All you do is read the book, make your own story and cameo the characters we all know and love! I personally can't wait to run the game in Tal'Dorei.

Yeah, who knows? Maybe I will when I have more experience. It is a great fit for the existing races, planes of existence, etc. Right now I'm running a Warcraft campaign setting just because I'm more familiar with it.

it's not in the Campaign guide. Matt mentioned after Heder's first episode that he might flesh it out further for DM's Guild or something.

I'm excited to see it. He is always so organized and prepared, I think his Campaign Setting will give some insight into how he does so.

It sounds brilliant! I, for one, am so pleased that Matt can hopefully get a return on his investment in terms of time he took to create the world that so many have enjoyed on CR.

Marquet is part of Exandria though. You mean other than Tal'Dorei? I think he won't do that. It's like e.g. Kara-Thur in Forgotten Realms. It exists, but there isn't much of information on it.

So excited for this Guide because 1.) I respect Matthew Mercer and want to support his endeavors and 2.) I fell in love with the world that Mercer put together and have always wanted to adventure through it.

I love watching Matt squirm when talking about his Blood Hunter class. It's like you can hear his brain going "don't call it a Witcher, don't call it a Witcher, for fuck sake don't say Witcher!" Anyone that has looked at the class and knows Matt's history isn't surprised by the heavy inspiration he took from The Witcher series.

Oh man I can't wait for this its gonna be awesome to just read it

Not a CR fan or a fangirl for Matt Mercer but I wish him the best of luck in creating his own setting and hopefully ending the stubborn fixation DND has for selling products for the Forgotten Realms exclusively. I hope his fans buy the product given that even I am tempted to look and see if it's a nice alternative; which may be the case, given the creative man and storyteller he is

I have my own large world that I've made and DMed and though I love Critical Role and I will buy the campaign guide, I won't run it. However, I will buy it mainly to look into things that I've been interested in within Critical Role as well as to take inspiration from it and maybe incorporate some of that good stuff in my own games, of which are linked together in the same world, but on different continents.

Similar, yes. Mercer made the class originally for Vin Diesel when he played a one-off with some of the Critical Role crew as part of a promo for The Last Witch Hunter. Mercer then re-tweaked it and turned it into the Blood Hunter class and released it on DMs Guild.

Gonna get the book, more to just see behind the curtain than anything. I don't think I could run this campaign for the sheer fact that most (if not all) of my group already watches Critical Role religiously. They'll already be able to call every plot point.
