I love that they brought in a parent/child team together. I think it brings in a new dynamic to the show this way. I mean, you see the tribes help each other out all the time, but this is on another level because it's a father not only doing things for himself and the tribe, but also going the extra lengths for his daughter.

It's called country kid vs city kids we all know the country kids on average are much more active and stronger plus have more hands on experience to the outside world then most city kids plus based on how the family raises there kids. I have proof bc I lived out in the country and my school was invited to a track and field event in the city for the top 5 placements in the last track and field event. Let's keep it short by the end of the day when they placed the times and distances for all events my school had broken all the records for every event and the city kids made fun of us bc we came from the country side and we walked away knowing we mopped the floor and embarrassed all of them.

Blue Car you really can’t climb with shoes. Especially normal shoes. I don’t wear any gear or shoes but i do use the rope technique that somi ‘ father uses. I mean i was born in a third world country in a village and as a kid i climb up to get coconuts often so i could climb up there in minutes cause its not really that high and when you learn the technique and you keep doing it your hands and feet gets rough making it much more easier. Now im too fat to do it lol

Nice to Somi's dad, as a military never give up. If you just had a research before you leave for that adventure, maybe you would know the easiest way or how can you climb a coconut tree easily. Here in the Philippines, you won't believe that a rented man for harvesting coconut, could climb almost 200 coconut trees a day. They cut some portion of the tree werein they could insert their foot on forward until they reach the top.

He thought the shortest tree is the easiest. Thats the one without the small cuts at the sides. Locals use it as a ladder.

That is the most terrible way climbing a coconut tree while wearing shoes. The only way to climb coconut tree is by barefoot PERIOD... without another argument. I grew up surrounded by coconut plantation my entire life in West Kalimantan province of Indonesia. So don't argue with me. He should at least do some checks on Google about coconut tree climbing tricks and methods.

I've heard that he's from a navy or marines or something. But if he is then he should know that that's a stupid idea to begin with. To waste all that energy, the probability to get wounded all for just that small coconut fruit that looks dull and old. Stupid idea. But hey! It's all for entertainment television, right? That's what he achieved.
