In its staging at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, RIVER OF FUNDAMENT places Barney’s latest and most epic filmic undertaking alongside the physical works that are distilled from it.

    I initially thought that first guy was doing some kind of wacky character, but, nope, I think he's actually like that.

    That water line is dope. I think it's hard for art to exist without myths and religion so he is basically making up his own. I guess the hard part is that because it's purely the artist's own mythology it can be really inaccessible for the common viewer which is a shame and at the end of the day the question remains : how can contemporary artists push culture forward beyond the confines of gallery walls?

    OK, I'm really annoyed with this kind of high dollar art. Y'know, the kind where you have to be a millionaire to even fantasize about making it. But these were at least aesthetically interesting in their variety and interesting in their relatedness.
