Matterhorn Bobsleds (Fantasyland Track) - Disneyland Park 2021
Hurtle through a snow-capped mountain on a speeding alpine sled while avoiding the clutches of the Abominable Snowman.

Climb into a 6-person bobsled and brace yourself against howling winds as you ascend 80 feet up into an icy cave. Take in the sweeping views at the summit and prepare for a thrilling, high-speed ride.
Swoop in and out of shadowy caves and along jagged rocky ledges. Throttle through snowy chutes and around frozen precipices. Fly across bridges and under waterfalls before splashing down into an alpine lake.
The real peril is not snow or sleet! Stories abound of a growling creature known as the Abominable Snowman-who will do anything and everything to protect his home.

2 Different Routes
There are 2 bobsled tracks: 1 on the Fantasyland side of the mountain and the other on the Tomorrowland side. During slower periods, only a single track may be in operation.
More Than Meets the Eye
Matterhorn mountain certainly looks like its counterpart in the Swiss Alps- partially thanks to the excellent use of forced perspective. However, the peak is just a bit lower than the original-it’s exactly 100 times shorter than the 14,700-foot-tall real thing.
More than 800 gallons of paint were used to create heavier snowfall on the north-facing-just like the real Matterhorn. Glass beads on the façade glitter like actual snow!

One of my favorite rides along with Pirates, Star Tours, and the Haunted Mansion. I haven't been to Disneyland since the early-mid 90s.
Im old enough to have ridden this ride the first time in 1962. The thing I noticed other than the upgrades to the visuals and a snow monster.....is the ride crew (cast?) at one time wore 'Swiss' themed uniforms. It must be more PC to have unisex kaki and white shirts. Sad in a way.....the Swiss outfits set a mood.....for a kid anyway. Thanks

I just went to Disney world a month ago and went to Disneyland once back in 2004 and back then thought Disney World was better but the rides I’m seeing at Disneyland are looking even more fun than what we did at Disney World. Might have to make Disneyland my next trip!
The last time I was on that ride was decades ago when I was much younger. I'm glad to see it still around. That thing is old.

We had a great time this March. Awesome ride
One of the most important coasters ever, first one to use tubular steel, revolutionised the coasters as we know it.
I remember riding this 2 years ago. That airtime on that one hill in insane 😆

That is the only way to enjoy Disneyland.....absolutely no worries of what other people think...just enjoy!!!!!!

I preferred the Matterhorn when they were single 4-person bobsleds (not two ganged together) and back when the Sky Ride went through the mountain AND the tracks went all the way nearly to the top of the mountain. Oh, did I mention, no stupid red glowing eye roaring snow monsters. Back then the ride was fast, smooth and especially awesome at night!

Went to go on it in November as the last ride of the night. Make it to the top and right before the drop, we hit the brakes lights come on and we have to evacuate. Which I’ll admit seeing the inside was cool but I was so looking forward to the ride
Good video. Little tip, though...clean your lenses before recording. It's very smudged.
So I don’t think people realize how far Walt Disney was ahead of his time. When this coaster was built there was nothing else like it in the world!
Best side for the ride. I always liked the last cave part right at the very end.

The yeti always scared me the most, whenever I knew he would pop up I would close my eyes and cover my ears-
Terrified me as a kid...yet could not tell if they still had the a luminous statue of the anamotronic Yeti or a digital one now

@@annlebelt2676 Towards the end of the line the cast member will direct you to the right side (Fantasyland side) or the left side (Tomorrowland side). You can ask for a specific side if you want. The two bobsleds from each side go at about the same time. Many claim, including myself, that the Tomorrowland side is faster, while the Fantasyland side is more jerky.

I remember going on this ride and it was my favorite ride at Disneyland
I remember riding this without a seatbelt in the late 1980’s. I can promise that if my brother hadn’t been holding on to me with a hero’s grip…I would have died on this ride. I wonder if anyone else had a similar experience???

Oh wow I’ve never been to Disneyland but that sounds absolutely terrifying! Did they not have seatbelts back then or did your seatbelt malfunction?

Only children 12 years old and below will enjoy this ride.
It's not fast, there's no air time, no steep drops. If it weren't inside the mountain, this coaster would be panned by pretty much all coaster enthusiasts.

When I was locked a kid I thought it was much scarier. As I got older I thoght it was meh. Of course, Disneyland is the family friendly park while Magic Mountain and Knott's Berry Farm are the thrill parks.

I have a fractured L5, never had a problem with this ride. Yes it is jerky and bumpy at times, but not too extreme imo. I never skip this

Diese Rumpelbahn bin ich vor kurzem auch gefahren. Sie ist ganz witzig...aber mehr auch nicht. Fahrkomfort gleich 0. Aber das mit den Yetis war gut gemacht. Note 2-3 würde ich geben...
