I grew up on David Tennant so I guess he is mine as I stopped watching Doctor Who (regularly) when he left though I have seen a few Matt Smith ones but NEVER seen Peter Capaldi as the Doctor on TV and only found out about Matt Smith leaving Doctor Who through the news

That episode where they had everyone there - Donna, rose, torch wood, Sarah Jane and Martha is one that I revisit every so often because I remember living for that shit haha. Plus when he did the crossover on Sarah Jane Adventures on CBBC. Mad times.

Hmm. I would debate that....I agree that the River song story line given the MS was what, in my opinion, made his doctor memorable (as the Galifrey retrieval arc was what made PC's doctors relevant). However the jokes in MS's stories did not add value to the episodes, in that it was more child humour (as his doctor was the first to be shown in America), which didn't forward the plot as DT's "jokes" did. An example is the joke of "fish fingers and custard" and "i speak baby" jokes in comparison to the "Queen Elizabeth" or the "false regeneration - why would i change" joke made multiple times during his run. Each of DT's jokes had some relevance to the story which came back. Finally (according the IMDB) all of DT's episodes had higher ratings (but only just - again BBC America). In conclusion did MS have better adventurers? According to the views and quality of episodes - no. According to the lore of the doctor and importance of RS, the 50th, Clara, the new regeneration cycle etc... - then God yes. Did MS have better jokes - Jokes for the sake of being jokes and appealing to an American audience - then yes. However jokes made with context and which eventually came back around to make them more interesting stories - then no unfortunately. But this is a great topic you've brought up.

The point i was making about America (if you refer to writers commentaries) is that some aspects of the show was changed to be more fitting for an international audience. In the above argument, the point i was making was that you can't compare the quality of episodes from a ratings point of view alone, as when BBC releases TV numbers, for MS's series the views are based of BBC and BBC America numbers combined, where as the numbers for DT are just (UK) national, so we don't know what the drop in UK figures were and thus can't make a reliable comparison between the two. But yes i do agree with you (although i would argue the same as you do about every single movie alien invasion being in America haha).

I once gotten in trouble for playing with it at midnight because I can't stop looking at the green light and listening to the sound. Not gonna lie, for the longest time, Tennant was my favorite Doctor, but I fell hard for Eleven. I went through the cycle of “Oh, who’s this new guy, he’ll never replace my Doctor”, but then fish sticks and custard happened and I was smitten. I’d say that 10 and 11 are tied, but deep down I know that I like 11 just a smidge more than 10.

I love that actors who played the Doctor no matter how long after it the interviews are always about this

Matt Smith will be The Doctor in my heart forever. When I'm in my old ages and I see him playing an old man character I will still see The Doctor.
