Chris just loves music....when the other guy's soloing he's just carefree, vamping and digging it. No competition, no nerves, just love of the music and pure joy. Then he takes his solo and melts the place. Every time. The man.

THE OTHER GUY -happens to be Matt Schofield, a phenomenal talent, probably just came in to listen and Chris gave him a guitar to play, as Matt always plays strats, and totally nails it. Not to take anything away from Chris, he is also great, they certainly had a fantastic time playing together, as well as call and response. That my friend is a result (among many other reasons, like starting young , having a dad who was way way into blues, and having played live funk fusion soul blues jazz for a long long time ) of having seriously studied jazz guitar. Blurring the imaginary lines between jazz and blues, like the "RnB" musicians of the 40's 50's. You can't comp like that without the funk feel, and the variety of voicings.

This is RIDICULOUS!!! Damn!!!

That man looking like he just stepped off his tractor, is one of the great guitarists of all time.

Chris Cain is like master Yoda... in total control of everything! fantastic!!

Matts solo and tone were killer. Chris tone and playing also killer. Those 335s sounds so awesome.

So great! I love how Chris dances with his head. He shakes his head like "no, no, no, this must never end!" Playful like child, full of joy!

I love the way both guitarists complimented each other so well, both had the spotlight, and neither overplayed or played over the other

I don't recall last time, I listened and saw two true blues gents working that great together. I just can't stop my self replaying this session. Great share. Thanks a lot with love and blues from Denmark

Years ago when I worked in retail grocery my buddy who ran the delicatessen was Chris’s rhythm guitarist, so I was lucky enough to start watching him around 1987 or so... give or take - it’s been a while. It’s amazing to see these two seriously talented guys dip into their seemingly unending vault of wonderful licks,fills, and ideas, when Chris is on he’s tough but Matt is a monster as well - more than held his own!

Please post more from this show with Matt and Chris. Together they are just too much... whew!

Man, Both Chris and Matt's soloing is phenomenal, but I was amazed at the chord substitutions and rhythm that Chris played! Takes a 1-4-5 to a totally new place!

EVERYTIME Matt plays a Gibson, I think to myself ... “ Matt, why don’t you just play one all the time?” Then I wake up from the mesmerizing sounds of Gibson in the hands of a master blues man and realize he can’t hear me. Somebody please give Matt a vintage Gibson, he’s earned it.

Matt is an excellent guitarist and educator, and seems at home with a Strat in his hands.

Honestly, I heard his music an hour ago for the first time, on the radio in my car. A live gigg on radio Veronica. I've been sleeping for years. It was good music

On top of CC being a killer guitarist he is really in touch with the particular amp he uses. Music Man 112 RD 50. Cuts through like a sharp knife. No pedals no tricks just pure soul power.

I love everything about this-the way they really dig in at 3 minutes in-amazing. Rhythm section of bass and drums killing it. Also the Maui Sugar Mill looks like such a cool place filled with such cool people in the background!

The guy with the bibs facial expressions alone are worth the price of admission.

Damn listening to these two jam is just heaven. It puts such a big smile on my face. Massive fan of Matt!

Met CC after a gig in Sweden in 2020; was so totally blowned away and felt I had to thank him in person. After the gig he went solo sweaty to a calmer spot to have a small whiskey, and I softly went up and asked if we could chat. No worries at all, big hugs and I got a fine selfie for my wife! I love this blues man!
