This whole angle was comedy gold. It was cheesier than fondue and there's no way Jeff and Matt were taking it seriously. It's car crash television, but hell, at least it made TNA watchable (Well.......this and E-LI-DRAKE). The absolute best part is Matt's accent constantly changing and evolving in weirdness.

Now that i think about it i think a Prince Nana impression is right on the button. I always thought of it as a mixture of African,British,Spanish and Civil War-era Southern. Part of me really hopes this feud continues with Jeff as Willow.

No, it was just cringeworthy as a storyline. But it was also brilliant because it actually drew attention towards TNA when virtually everyone was well past giving a damn about them. Perhaps TNA should attempt to focus on cartoon-style WWF-1980s style storytelling and just go completely over the top rather than try to copy modern WWE. A lot of folks might enjoy something like CHIKARA on TV.

It was something so out there that you couldn't stop watching, the Hardys are so into it. Matt is fucking funny as hell, the camera works sometimes is awesome, Jeff is fucking crazy himself, that Willow shit I don't what the fuck that was, there was a fucking fireworks battle!!! the match ends up in a fucking tomb with a flaming hardy boys sign. That shit just happened, clearly is was inventive as hell and they reminded me of old Attitude Era clips with the camera work and the lighting. Clearly that is where the Hardys belong. If this was done in 97 Hardys would be all over the place. Nice stuff indeed, but weird as fuck.

Seriously. It's about time that Matt had something to chew on. It's about time he got to shine. It's about time he was something a little bigger than "Jeff Hardy's brother". He finally got a true starring role, and he's killed it. I hope they keep making this crazy stuff for a long ass time.

Matt Hardy is a genius. It was one of those rare cases in wrestling where the humor was intentional and it worked. From the xylophone, to the drone army, to the dilapidated boat, I LOL'ed. New Day's heavily scripted, boring skits on RAW haven't garnered much more than a sardonic grin from me. I agree with Zane about the freedom. RAW could use some of the wild creative energy that was present in the Final Deletion.

I watched Matt Hardys acting and think: "I'm gonna drown you, Im gonna drown you in a bathtub full of golden raspberry's". The stunts in the match where awesome the Swanton Bomb from the Tree etc. The Cuts where bad and the story was like dngn said from a horror Movie special with the standard we found the dead body of the Masked Evil guy but in was on of our friends forced to disguise. By now im pretty sure both wanna leave TNA but are not allowed to contract so Matt put on his worst possible acting and Jeff said in an interview he wanna end his career in WWE.

Three things: 1. I love that The Hardy Boyz still live so close to each other (as evidenced by these vignettes) despite being engaged in a blood feud. 2. When they squared off, I thought an energy bar for each man would appear at the top of the screen. 3. Between this and Lucha Underground with their own cinematic vignettes (and that the Aztec medallions of the GoTG belt remind me of the Dragon belt key symbols). It is nice to see non-WWE promotions have given up on trying to appeal to disgruntled fans without an alternative in the 15 years that WCW and ECW folded and instead are focused on trying to attract the fans who were disenfranchised by the cancellation of WMAC Masters in 1997.

What's very similar about the Final Deletion and the Contract Signing video is that the Hardy's made their own wrestling matches, characters, ring, and storylines as kids back in day. They were true die-hard fans from the begining plus kids today are doing they same thing. Basically for the Hardy's this is really not new to them. Yet it's very interesting is that the Hardy's reused it again. Check out Edge and Christian's old segement watching Hardy Boyz's homevideos or Hardy's documentaries.

When I was watching the match, it was like you said, it was never done before. It was like a car crash that you couldn't take your eyes away from. I don't know how else to say it. Like a car that has flipped in the air 4-5 times, it might look cool, but it's still an accident. The wresting and all the props were goofy, but it was well put together. I was speechless the whole time lol

My criticism of the final deletion was it wasn't a wrestling match but an overproduced action sequence. I personally hated it. I really found your perspective intriguing though and hopefully the popularity of this storyline will drive better story telling in wrestling.

This was just........something else, haha. It was one of the most entertaining things I've ever watched and what I loved about it is that I laughed and was entertained more by this video than a majority of the bullshit comedy segments WWE has put out in the past 5 years.

I've just watched The Final Deletion episode and it was wrestling gold. Right up there with Judy Bagwell on a Forklift. I am now a HUGE Matt Herd fan, or 'Bratt' as I call him (Broken Matt). I want more of Benjamin and his delightful xylophone.

It looked like a lot of fun to edit and shoot, it's what i always saw in my head when i was a kid watching wrestling if that makes sense, haha.

BZ, I need your opinion on this. While this segment was one of the most unique things I certainly have ever seen. Do you think the over-the-top, cinematic, approach to this was TNA's way of grabbing a hold of that audience that is drawn to Lucha Underground's style of production? We give TNA a hard time because the product has all too often felt similar to everything else that is already being done on television, but it feels like TNA is producing an angle similar to what we would see on Lucha Underground. I want to give all the credit to the Hardy's and TNA for putting this out there, but I can't help but feel this is TNA just continuing to post off the concepts of other companies.

Personally, I loved Final Deletion- I thought it was absolutely spectacular. It's nice to have an alternative to the E, where everything just feels micromanaged, like they're doing it not to entertain the fans, but just to keep the status quo. Great vid by the way!

The Final Deletion will be remembered as the moment that saved TNA and a hell of a lot of jobs in the business. The Deletion era is the best thing to happen to wrestling since the rise of the NWO.

I've found this feud to actually be interesting. I literally for the first time in a few years have been seeking these matches. (There are of course ones I've been linked to that were good, but this one is the one I've actively sought out) I'm not a huge Matt/Jeff Hardy fan, but Broken Matt Hardy reminded me of Codys monster/disfigured phase. My favorite phase of Cody Rhodes. Just...Matt turned the insanity of the gimmick to 11. Jeff did his part, and by no means was this the greatest angle that has ever happened, but it's definitely caught peoples attention. In todays era of wrestling, capturing the imagination and attention of the people is one of the most important things you can accomplish.

It was such a unique way of storytelling that you just couldn't look away from. Sure, Matt Hardy is goofy but it goes with his mental stability being out of whack. He truly believed to keep his family safe he needed to erase or "DELETE" his brother...that brother is Brother Nero. His accent is brought on by a stress disorder that caused him to have a mental break and believe he actually is from the 1800's eg. A personally gifted Violin from famous craftsman Antonio Stradivari who lived in that era. The twists and turns had you in disbelief, the comedy is very self-depreciating which always gets over with people and the backstory makes absolute sense. This is one time where wrestling doesn't need to be the focus because the story is strong enough to tell itself. The matches they have are more like fights because there is "bad blood" between the two in storyline.

before i talk about this match, heres my background: jeff hardy is my favorite wrestler, and ive been watching wrestling since i was about 8 (i am now 22) while i appreciate the outside the box thinking, i hated the segment and heres why: wrestling, by nature calls for the audience to suspend a level of disbelief in what theyre looking at. which is a good thing. but when its produced the way this match was, it comes off as insulting for how far they want us to stretch. heres what i mean by this: when we see the undertaker call a bolt of lightning to the ring, or kane rip open the matt and climb into the ring, even tho its "magic", we appreciate it because it is all happening in front of us and we can appreciate the art behind it. when this match was filmed with camera angles, and probably multiple takes, jeff and willows swap becomes meaningless because we know there is no live audience seeing this. to me it came across like someone saying to me "we think u are so stupid, that u will totally buy this special effects driven match because you stupid wrestling fans will believe anything" were smarter than that. we know how to suspend disbelief to enjoy the act, but dont treat us like were so stupid that we will buy into something so fake that the live performance art is taken away from it
