CP3 is a mean cuss and highly competitive. At 6ft tall you gotta be that way. His years as a Hornet where incredible. As a fan from afar I understood Chris Paul was good in the abstract. The most exciting season as a suns fan was 05-06 when Shaq was so unbelievably dominant and in Phx conference, they had to reinvent their offense with Nash and decided their best shots would come within the first 7 seconds of the shot clock, before shaq, and any team really, had time to set their defense. I thought for certain i’d never have more fun or see another Suns team that good for a very long time, maybe ever. When Chris Paul arrived i had absolutely no clue what to expect. It was obvious though that their style looked nothing like the 05 Suns, it was the exact opposite. Which seemed confusing, with such a young team, to slow down an offense rather than speed it up. Then Chris and Monty installed the most complex half court offense in the nba, maybe ever. Once again, with a young team seemed bizarre. Booker and Monty had the Suns heading in the right direction after their bubble run, but now getting to see Chris Paul each and every night…it’s entirely clear to me now why he is considered one of the best guards in the history of basketball.

Nah, that team was falling apart, they had injuries and those players didn’t really fit together. Kobe and CP3 are similar so they both would have been tough on Dwight so they’re chemistry was doomed from the start.
The funny thing is that when David Stern nixed the deal, he cited basketball reasons as the explanation. Yet, when they finally did deal Chris Paul to the clippers, the players that New Orleans got back in exchange were not nearly as talented as Lamar Odom or Pau Gasol. I remember feeling at the time, that the league just didn’t want the Lakers to form a super team. Kobe definitely would have gotten ring number six and seven with Chris Paul and Andrew Bynum on the roster

You can tell twitter trolls vs people who know basketball if they bring up CP and not having a ring. Rings do not tell the story, it's just part of the journey.

When you consider the grit and grind that it takes for players like Isiah “Zeke” Thomas and CP3 to make it to the league at their statures and relatively lack of athleticism in comparison to their competition, and be top players, they had to have aggressively demanding personalities that turned many off (this is why to this day, MJ and his fans, Pippen, and Karl Malone are still traumatized by Zeke nearly 30 years after he left the court and put his competitive ways behind him). Otherwise, Isiah wouldn’t have been able to lead the aggression that the Bad Boys played with and CP3 wouldn’t be the one man resurrector of teams that he’s been his entire career.
