I am absolutely powerless to not watch a video with Matt Atkinson. The man is a living legend. The great men who fought on the fields of Gettysburg are not the only mighty Americans who make that place what it is. It takes people like ranger Atkinson who captivate minds through history and story to continue passing these important battles to our future generations.

Gary do you have plans to cover the medical cores of both armies ? The aftermath of battle may seized for both armies but the medical and surgical Cores I could not even imagine how tired they were. Thank everyone behind the scenes in camera that bring these videos to us that cannot be there. Which we could get Matt’s Email address

Great to see and hear Matt with his warm accent. Must think of Chamberlain and his command on the end of the line. Latimer too. What a brave man and most skilled and dedicated. You knew you would be a target for the opposing artillery and those jagged pieces of metal could be lethal. One accounted for the arm of John Bell Hood. The greatest battle in England, during one of their civil wars at Towton (29th. March 1461) is called the "English Gettysburg" has the remains of two hand-cannons, which like the Parrots, had exploded. Wonderful to see the knowledge and care taken by the Battlefield Trust, the Park Rangers and the Gettysburg Foundation.

Their main purpose was still the same, explode into small pieces and take out the enemy. I carry shrapnel in my chest to this day. I still remember how red hot the shrapnel was when it hit me
