'Matt an Harriet argue', more like Matt endlessly nags at Harriet about her religious biliefs..I'm not even a Cristian but God the guy is irritating!

Matt has no problem with religious belief in God (as he demonstrates in the last sequence of this scene), what he cannot understand is the literal belief of what the Bible says. To literally defend the claims of the Bible, especially those that refer to narrated stories, seems unreasonable to a rational person, even if he has faith in God. It is not necessary to literally believe that the world is 6,000 years old to be a person of faith.

To add my my thoughts on a 5 year old argument, Matt and Harriet aren’t really Matt and Harriet in these arguments. They’re the left and the right of this country. The christian right, and liberal left. Aaron Sorkin is making a point about the soul of our country, that we can think each other is crazy or godless, and still love each other. And this is where we are, or were. In 2023, the extremes of either side has gotten EVEN MORE EXTREME. But i wish we could be more like Matt and Harriet, and realize the positive qualities, and sincerity in each other.
