To be fair. Matsuoka is so famous that he is known far outside of the anime otaku fandom. The only other male seiyu of his gen that is on his level is Yuki Kaji. Tomatsu is certainly a good VA but there is no contest who is more well known.

Actually pretty common occurrence for big names to be easily recognized even for common people And don't asked me why tomacchan say she's never got "spotted" she's definitely have It's just probably the one working on her was trying to stay professional But also it's sometimes people just legit doesn't recognize them
