It's an interesting revisiting of Yojimbo. Although Yojimbo and For a Few Dollars more were better, this is at least a respectful remake.

She’s a model not an actor

The only action in this scene was the woman mutter mumbling her lines. All Out of Action!

Back in a time when going to "the press" meant something. Today it's going straight to those you're trying to expose.

I prefer this English language version of La Femme Nikita (also directed by Luc Besson). To me, watching foreign language films is like watching Charlie Chaplin; you are really watching gesturing and expressions; I like listening to the dialog rather than reading it. Bridget Fonda (Point of No Return) was hotter.

hard to tell whose fault it is when she's basically reading the script out loud from memory. more like CSI rather than a movie. is it the director, the people who wrote the script, the actress or all threes fault?

I think this very fine film got less attention than deserved because of its nonconformism. It's a mashing up of romantic dramas, action films, and it's woman-centric as to agency, to boot. It's got more ingredients than many people know how to mix and digest.

Apparently, Luc Besson begged him 4 times, and he turned him down. Eventually, he relented because it was becoming embarrassing. But obviously a year later he really regretted it because of what came out about Luc
