The caravans kept running through the big fight and die.

Matreiuss played perfectly until Mythic Age. Then he forgot to make trade and to make counter units. That was the difference. Damn, I was really rooting for him

A market below the 3rd tc would have been actually better here, as it would stop the trade from running through the fight and die. That way, he actually would've had a trade route even if it wasnt as good gold/trip. then he could've placed a better market when he secured the tc. In this game, the proper market placement actually cost him the game. (though he could've won by using peltast+heleopoli/colossus).

Oh lord Poseidon, why did't Mattreius transition into cavalry? Hippicon against archers, prodromus against siphons, hetairoi maybe backdooring, gg... Why bother massing those suicide hoplites, when stables and cavalry are cheaper as poseidon? Just cavalry and some toxotes.

Same thing bothered though the whole game, only a food shortage could explain but still was producing infantry, for sure would have turned up differently

Infantry is better in late game because of pop efficiency (2 pop for hops x 3 pop for hipps) and because cavalry is easily countered by towers with crenellations

@@hsantos91 it's like, all of mattreius' gods, poseidon hermes and hephaestus, favor only one unit type: cavalry. What does he produce? Infantry Archers Siege, actually anything but that.

Towers have a massive bonus% against cavalry. They would've died instantly at that fight.

Lots of really strong players right now actually. Hard to say who is definitively the best. Kimo has won some tournaments lately, Joe is playing super high level, Shelty looks strong, greenseasquash is really good when on form.

This tournament uses only standard maps, voobly league is starting soon and has a lot of custom maps :)
