Yeah me too. Though it wasn't really physical. Though I could see she was pretty, I just wanted a teacher like her who was actually nice and cared. I went to a school where teachers were all high-strung, stressed out and often monsters like Trunchbull; I got beaten with rulers and whipped across the hands with canes so many times, at one point it was twice a week. It was a high-performance school which also taught in a different language, so it was super demanding and they couldn't handle non-conformity. I was, funnily, like Matilda, a precocious reader; I was reading all the Roald Dahl books by the time I was 4-5. Ironically, the one Roald Dahl book Mom didn't let me read was Matilda, because I think she was scared I would identify with the character and think I deserved to be treated special. My parents were supportive of me being smart and always bought me tons of books, but they didn't want me to grow up _thinking_ I was smart. If I had known there was nothing wrong with being clever and it was possible to actually have nice caring teachers like Miss Honey, I might've been a totally different person.
