Can we use exponents, square roots, factorials, etc or do we just use the four operations?

I’m pretty sure you’re only allowed to use the four operations. If you could use more than the four operations, turning a 3 into a 9 using squared is technically cheating because it changes the value so if 3 is squared is equal to 9, 9 squared could also equal 81 and so on therefore 3 is the absolute value if not 3 can equal 81 and 81 squared.

Cool, see you guys :) About the operation thing, we should ask the judges at the competition room. They probably know more rules and will deal with these types of questions…
