Superlativi. BIGHIN GIULIO RENZO. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

She is so lovely! Nice quadruple pirouette at the end of her fouettes! The fish dives were indeed a fail but haven't seen anyone do then right outside of the NYCB.

she has neither great feet nor hyper extension, yet you can't move your eyes away from her. She's such a beautiful dancer with great musicality. Her fluid moves are breathtaking.

She needed a partner as sure and daring of himself as she is of herself. I love that she took chances with the music, taking things close enough to the edge to be a bit dangerous... very exciting performance on her part. He was waaaay too safe, imo.

Beautiful! The fish dives at the end just need a bit more daring. If you look at how the ballet was danced when Balanchine was still alive (and keeping a critical eye on things), the ballerinas literally went flying through the air.

Oh for godsake--people are complaining about the steps HERE when there are videos out there of things like ALINA COJOCARU and ALINA SOMOVA (!!!!!!!!!!) destroying this ballet? I might add that such personages as Svetlana Zakharova and Darcey Bussell also do not cover themselves with glory in this role. Mlle. Froustey is clean and honest and attempts most of the steps, which is more than can be said for the international 'stars' who slaughter them. Funny how the Trust doesn't seem to care (cont)

I saw her up close and her long slim legs are very pretty. Her feet are fine. I love pretty feet as much as anybody but feet are not everything and it really isn't good to have foot fetish. She has been in San Francisco this season and we were so fortunate to have her here. She has everything and that is how she won gold at the Varna IBC when she was only 18.

@Lanou Il faut plutôt qu'elle appelle le Royal Ballet! Le Bolshoi c'est pas ce qu'il y de mieux... Par rapport à l'Opéra ou le Royal en tout cas pour moi il y a pas photo! :)

about 'Balanchine TechniqueTM' and 'Balanchine StandardsTM' if it's a big enough name, isn't it? Yes, the dives are wrong (and they usually are at NYCB too) and Bittencourt is too cautious (those dives are perilous if done right--I saw a ballerina just about get dropped on her head once) but Mlle. Froustey is obviously a lovely dancer and, as Lanou and plumplumpudding so trenchantly observe, needs to get out of POB to be appreciated. (Mlle. Lefevre is LEAVING! THERE IS A GOD!!!!!!!!)

Those dives. I’ve only seen one ballerina do it right, and that was on film. Suzanne Farrell in “The Turning Point.” I’m surprised that succeeding generations of NYCB ballerinas haven’t been coached to get it right.

You should have told Balanchine that before he died. Maybe he would have altered the choreography to suit your taste.

She really had the Balanchine sense of being daringly off-balance and dangerously syncopated. The "fish dives" were awful.

What is it about certain POB ballerinas? They look like they have their point shoes on the wrong feet.

These dancers are so good it's a great pity that they don't hear the music in the way that Balanchine taught American dancers to hear. As a result so much of their work goes for less than it should. It's down to the coaching, I suppose. My experience is that I've seen American dancers who are, arguably, much less well trained, pull off a more satisfying performance simply on the strength of their Balanchine-inspired observance of the music.

La meilleure chose à faire pour Mlle Froustey est de décrocher son téléphone, appeler le Bolchoï, et décamper d'un opéra de Paris asphyxié et rampant (enfin, il faut qu'elle le fasse si elle veut être soliste)
