Erin Threlkeld There‘s no separation of the two. Just family getting together to formalise and acknowledge the intent of the 2 parties to marry. In essence it’s truly an engagement ceremony but from engagement onwards, to the Kambas, you’re as good as married so they consider it all part of the many marriage ceremonies held leading up to the wedding.
