Part 12: • Math Hoffa & Vlad Argu...
Part 10: • Math Hoffa on Boosie W...
Part 1: • Math Hoffa on Umar Joh...
--------
In this clip, Vlad and Math Hoffa discussed the issue of financial equality within Hollywood, citing cases like Taraji P. Henson and Mo'Nique, who have vocalized their concern that they are not being paid adequately for their work. Henson and Mo'Nique have gained support from many who feel their pain and agree that this is a massive issue within the industry. The hosts also evoke Viola Davis, who has similarly expressed dissatisfaction with Hollywood's pay structure. However, Vlad presented a contrasting opinion, likening the situation to his interviews, where he sometimes incurs losses, noting that no interviewee has ever offered to refund fees when his projects lost money. Vlad also noted that he has often paid his Black guests more than his White ones.

Vlad is right tho nobody told her to take those roles she’s definitely smart enough to create her own and she made enough money to do so. Us Black people got to stop thinking the grass is greener on the other side we still got that slave mentality crying and begging the white man for everything. I’ll ancestors didn’t wanna work for them they was fighting for freedom so they could create their own. Black people want equality in a white country make it make sense.🤔

No he was making an analogy to break down the BUSINESS but y’all to slow to comprehend that. He tried to explain how he pays BLACK entertainers more on his show because they do the best numbers. Which is equivalent to why Meryl Streep would get paid more than Taraji because she does the better numbers. What part of that is difficult for you to understand?

Yeah, they missed the point and you missed the point because Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey were in charge of that production over his been doing the media tours with her. They were in charge of her paycheck and since the two of them are billionaires well Jesus Christ, I wonder why they didn’t help their black sister it isn’t the white man there isn’t discrimination. We have civil rights in our country and everybody has to be treated equally and everybody is given the same opportunity are there racist people yeah there are but guess what everybody can do anything they wanna do in this country there is no system holding them down. I would argue. In fact, the system is rigged for Black people, since you have to score less to get into college and you can cry about being a goddamn criminal, a police get shot and everybody will praise you and put you in a gold casket like they did George Floyd Who by the way didn’t get murdered, so no there are no such thing as this racist America and this hype. Stupid agenda especially today on Martin Martin Luther King day. Did you ever see Martin Luther King marching in the street without a three-piece suit on? No you never did. Did he ever burn down a building? Did he ever uplift a criminal? No he didn’t so why does the black community do it? It’s their culture it’s their way and they cry about it in the victims of the victims. It’s just like that in the white community the victims are the victims they play on victim hood, and the successful ones do what they need to do. There are good people and there are bad people in black and white communities but you know who doesn’t have that Asians, they value education they’re good to their families they put back into their communities it’s us asshole Americans that started this shit and it’s white and black. There’s projects in white areas. I didn’t come from shit. Both my parents were alcoholics and addicts. But I made my life what I wanted to be with good work and hard work dedication. I become successful so enough of this black white shit, and everybody being a victim in the 80s and 90s when I was growing up you couldn’t be a victim. You had a bite the bullet and do what you had to do and back then interracial marriages just started like only 10 years you didn’t see racism you didn’t see color now everywhere we’re taught to see color you gotta see color you gotta see color. Of course when I look at somebody I see color but guess what I don’t pointed out and I don’t need it to be the topic of every conversation and I have black friends and I have white friends and I have one Asian friend and I have a little Mexican friend too. I just surround myself by good people. I don’t look at what color they are.

It was the Black people that did not pay her. It wasn’t the white man, so maybe if a white man had paid her maybe she would’ve gotten paid better since 50 Cent has came out and said that he would hire her and give her more pay. This is about black white it’s not, it’s stupid. There’s civil rights that protect people from getting paid fairly. It’s who is in charge of the hiring and your paycheck. Just cuz Vlads reasoning is how it “works” don’t make it right. Just cuz someone can get more eyes or seats filled, but NOT be as talented as someone else don’t make it right that the more talented person shouldn’t get paid more. You have to ask “why is this person able to fill seats but not be as talented?” It wasn’t the individual. It’s because these companies market and advertise someone to be in that position more times than the individual themselves. If the same money was spent marketing and advertising the more talented individual then they WOULD be able to fill those seats and get those views.

While I know you mean well, I think you're a bit naive. We don't have to guess or wonder... We've seen this exact same scenario play out time after time after time in Hollywood, most specifically as it pertains to musicians. If you were born in the 80's or early 90's, you can name a litany of artist that had the god given talent AND they received a solid push from a major but they just never caught fire as some of their less talented contemporaries who went on to be superstars. It just happens. There are people who are exceptionally talented but they just aren't built for the actual business side of the industry... And I'm not talking about any shady stuff. Some ppl just catcn on with the public, others don't. Advertising is EXPENSIVE. VERY EXPENSIVE...So it's hard to expect any entity to continue to shell put millions of dollars and allocating those type of resources to someone who isn't showing clear signs of being able to recoup that money. There's no other way around it.

He actually could’ve made his point better if he just calmed down & thought for a sec. Don’t compare Seinfeld, one of the biggest TV shows ever during an era when TV ad revenue was CRAZY profitable. Compare her 2016 “VEEP” to Viola’s 2016 show, and find both actresses _made the exact same $250k per episode_ only Viola made even more for having more episodes per season.

The comparison was a contrast to highlight the point you're making. Vlad was basically saying Brad has a bigger fan base and is more recognizable than Taraji. He didn't make that comparison to say they're equal.

@@nomibe2911 The reason why Brad Pitt has a bigger fanbase and is more recognizeable is because he's a white man. Do you know how long it took Viola Davis to reach the level of notereity that she has today? Her first acting credit was in 1996. How to Get Away with Murder premiered in 2014...
