    Absolutely great show of the German efficiency. Straight down to the point. No distracting funny remarks. Reasonably fast speaking with repeated mentions of the basic ways to access the necessary commands - that greatly helps people to memorize the shortcuts by hearing that again and again during the course. Amazing work. I want to move to Germany now :)

    These are so useful. I was watching the official tutorial series, and he kept using only shortcuts, never showing where to find items in the UI. He also skipped steps a number of times and I kept having to check the comments to figure out what went wrong. You cover everything in a clear, concise way and show all of the ways to access the tools (the repetition really helps when you're brand new and trying to learn!). I'm quite happy with my little chest, can't wait to play in Blender some more!

This is actually becoming a series (this is part 3 in the series) and I will cover a lot of other techniques from beginner to advanced over the course :) I will still alternate with other content, e.g. AE, HitFilm, reviews, mocha, etc since I have a lot of viewers wanting that content too, but the Blender series WILL continue :)

    Hi. So, I have a problem. I have a material called "CM_Props" associated to an object, used to paint the color maps, and I added a new material , and associated the previous material, associated to the same object, because I want the same color maps, but only for that object, I want it to be shine, but if I turn the shine to 1 , the other material associated also changes. Idk if im expressing my self in a good way, but what I want to do is have the same material, but also separated, so the first "CM_props" is the main one, and it doesnt change, and the associated have the same textures, but can be changed, in a way that the main doesnt.

I mostly want you to make tutorials about particle fluids. the houdini 16 is very annoying for some reason really. first of all it lags when I do simulations. (ITS NOT MY PC SPECS PROBLEM). And plus even when I follow some particle fluid tutorial. I can't get the same results as those. somethings wrong with houdini 16. Otherwise it has best features ever. Which other versions doesn't have. I think I ll go try out houdini 15!

    Great video. I am new to blender and having problems trying to giving things a actual size in inches for 3D printing. How would you give your a size. Something like your hollow box to be 3" wide 1" height, 1" front to back, and a wall thickness of .100". There are a lot of blender videos out there, but I haven't seen anybody giving there projects any dimensions. They just randomly size things. Do you have any videos that give actual detentions of something that can be 3d printed, using inches with blender.

    Thanks! Unfortunately I've never done any 3D printing so I'm likely not the. best person to give advise on that. You can however configure your. units in Blender to make sure things are a very specific size - how that maps to your 3D printer then I am not sure though

    Hey man can you make a video about comparing 3D modeling CGI ect. softwares? I decided to start 3ds max and houdini but i just saw Blender which made me get rid of any other programs and learn it. I feel like i'll stick to blender and improve myself on Blender. If you make a video talking about them that will be awesome.

  • @SurfacedStudio

    @SurfacedStudio

    I don't think I know 3dsMax or C4D in enough detail to really make a comparison. If you're just getting into it, I doubt it makes much of a difference what you use - given Blender is FREE that'd be my choice to get into it and feature wise it's pretty much on par with other 3D software applications out there

    Thank you for the feedback :) The reason my renders are 'quick' is because I speed up my videos where required so my audience doesn't have to sit there and wait. If you check the 'duration' in the preview window you'll notice that it's actually not that fast hehe

    Blender can export in a variety of different 3D formats. Not sure what formats Unreal Engine 4 supports (you'd have to look that up), but I'd be surprised if you couldn't export in a format that's supported :)

    Why is it that my Materials properties area looks nothing like the one on screen? Instead it has multiple drop downs: Diffuse, Specular, Shading, Transparency, Mirror, Subsurface Scattering, and like 6 others. On screen there are simply Custom, Preview, Surface, and Settings. I also can't seem to find out the solution anywhere else as to why this is happening. Quite frustrating honestly.
