Both looks good. Agree with you if you have p50 pro its enough no need to upgrade to mate 50 pro. Huawei is amazing on cameras.

Thank you for the comparison video. So far, I'm loving the camera performance of P50 Pro, specially the 3.5 & 10 times zoomed photos and lowlight photos! The automatic macro switching, as you mentioned here, is horrible!!

In video, I found the Mate 50's front to be better in detail and stabilization, I didn't see any advantage in the P50's autofocus. At the rear, I found the main and zoom lens better on the P50, while the ultra-angle is a tie. An interesting thing that I saw and didn't know it had an influence is that the larger the aperture, the lower the incidence of flare on the lens, so much so that at 1.6 the flare disappeared... very interesting to see in 10:8. In photos it was difficult to choose a winner, except at night where it is possible to see the Mate 50 better, although the colors I found better on the P50 especially in good light conditions. If I had to choose one, I think I would choose the Mate 50 because of the variable aperture, too bad it's only in PRO mode. Congratulations on the excellent work shown here!

Just got the Pixel 7 Pro, and my P50 Pro beats it in the camera department. Zoom, resolution overall, monochrome option, face and eye tracking, way wider wide angle, auto shutter with face and smile detection, aperture mode.... I wished the Pixel 7 Pro was on par with the Huawei but not in my experience so far! Still keeping the Pixel tho, hoping they fix the issues like the poor cinematic video mode. Ps. P50 Pro does 60 frames 4k in wide back and front. At least my Kirin version. Edit: After a week with the Pixel, getting happier and happier. Not grabbing P50 for photos much anymore... I guess it was mostly getting used to it and find more features.

Kinda surprised P50 Pro is holding up well despite it's a much older device and it has a smaller sensor size.

My first huawei phone is Mate 10 in 2017, then after 2 years I bought Mate 30 pro and this year, 2022, I purchased the P50 Pro. Photography is my main reason why I always purchase Huawei phones. I love taking photos of my family especially during special events. I always want to keep good memories. I do not find any problem with the lack of google apps since I have a cheaper android phone. And right now, I have the Gbox and Gspace installed on my device to access gmail.

Thanks for the excellent comparison! What I liked about Mate 50 pro - it can record 60 fps on all the lenses (similar to Mate 40 pro), the quality of sound at video recording and post processing at photos (less aggressive and more natural vs. p50 pro). Generally cameras are very close to each other. also it will be very interesting to see the progress Mate 40 pro vs. Mate 50 pro!

Check out ZTE axon 40 ultra. Can do up to 8k 30 ON ALL LENSES. The 8k on tele looks as good as a mirror less. Excellent bokeh quality

First phone that you can really compare with DSLR cameras thanks to the f1.4 aperture. And man... The bokeh... It's amazing!!

i actually bought a white nillkin case like yours for my p50 pro. it looks so beautiful

superb realistic cinematic video on mate 50 pro..

Worth mentioning that after release there have already been a software update for the camera of Mate 50 solving some issues. It is possible that future updates will make Mate 50 more capable than P50.

I've been using huawei p50pro for 10 months now, I really like this phone. Photos and videos are obtained on it of very good quality. Compared photos of Huawei P50pro and iPhone 13pro max, Huawei made photos better.

If I may give you a suggestion, there are at least 3 comparisons from the previous 3 series, such as the mate 40 pro or p40 pro, because like many people say in certain cases the mate 40 pro is better than the p50 pro.. so we can see the progress on the mate 50 pro :)

I had a P30 PRO and now Mate 50 pro. I realized that in my mate 50 pro the photos are not sharp and even not focused well in the pro Mode. Can somebody help me? Huawei support will send me a new phone, but it is no lt possible that the pro Mode is weaker than the normal photo mode on the mate 50 pro. Maybe somebody has experiences... Thank you

The P50pro has lag between pressing the shutter & taking the pic..which if not noticed causes poor pics..even press try to hold still ..pic..

@@lltechview That's quite shocking to hear. BTW, I used to have a P20. I'm not sure if I remember this correctly, if I covered the B&W lens, the main camera output would tend to use a higher ISO. Or probably not as bright as it should. You probably can test it to see how much the B&W sensor actually helps.

considering that im my country the mate 50 pro costs 1300 francs and the p50 pro only 700-800, my pick would obviously be the p50 pro

Got the P50 pro but I don't think it is worth spending the xtras $ for M50 pro as I did not see much upgrades or changes. P50 pro still rocks, wait till P60 pro is out maybe we will see more differences till then.

Mate 50 pro was pretty disappointing as a successor. Nothing special besides the aperture. I was ready to buy if they hit the target but missed opportunity just like iphone 14 max I believe. Although, iphone has all the benefits of google ios ect. Really missing a max or ultra version for Huawei. The RS model is not really an upgrade camera wise, and much more expensive

Is it better to go for the s22 ultra as it's roughly same price as mate 50 pro? Would you say s22 ultra has better Camera than mate 50 pro?

also Huawei has SD CARD SLOT which is worth Gold, when you shoot zillion pictures and then must erase apps because the sh+t phone doesn't have any memory space left and this happens to all stingy losers Samsung Apple Google Sony Oppo Aktus

the mate is better then p50 in color, macro, video, performance (sd 8+ gen 1 vs sd888/kirin9000), the mate 50 has 3d face unlock, large battery and also the kunlun glass. The mate 50 is simply better.

surprisingly the P50 loses out as it uses a RGGB lens where the Mate 50 uses RYYB lens. And the P50 marketed as a phone with accurate colours true to life

Huawei flagships always had great battery life, but P50 Pro Snapdragon versión was far from good in that area. Let's hope Mate 50 Pro has top battery life like Huawei flagships usually had...

the weakness of Qualcomm SD was very bad in terms of battery, it drains very fast. in all phone. Maybe thats why they're very fast.

In darker conditions definitely try to use the main cam. The front cam has no chance. Only if the display lights up for a fill light and you are close enough

Huawei video absolutely sucks unfortunately. Review the Zte axon 40 ultra bro. The back camera setup in mind blowing. Videos are on par with the iPhone. I own the phone and love it

@@harrylangford5253 Yeah but I did mention this. The monochrome sensor has less dynamic range. I also see no sharpness or micro contrast advantage. I did do a comparison between monochrome sensor of the P50 Pro vs non monochrome on the P50 Pocket

A lousy test.The camera should be tested on many flowers or plants where there will be many leaves in the frame. Then you can see which one has wrongly narrowed focus and blurred image on the sides. Also, there was no word whether the zoom is done in the highest pixel resolution mode or not.

Only for some computational night scenes, it's still expensive. About system, it's the worst you can buy. And yes, not better overall.
