Matching bokeh is important (tricks for swirly bokeh in blender)
This is how you can match blender's virtual camera to the characteristics of the (real) Helios 44-2. A trick that can be quite useful when you are rendering out photorealisic visual effects that are supposed to look like they were shot with your specific camera.

For the ring shot at the beginning the highlight is what’s out of focus, not the text. It has a roll off so it would blur that way naturally. I believe it’s actually still in camera however you drive a good point all the same.
sooo many thanksss the driver thing was super clever and useful
WOW JUST WOW... thanks utub for recomending you. lol. great work man. 👌😍

That's brilliant. Blender really should add support for PBR lenses.

Lovely tutorial! Do you know of a way to add chromatic aberration into the bokeh? Looking to match some older lenses where this effect is very apparent.

Kinda like a purple green shift? Ive tried pretty hard before but I haven't yet found a great solution. Maybe looking at compositing tutorials in other software could clue us in on a good technique.

@@IanLetarteyou can achieve it by physically giving the bokeh texture chromatic aberration (like a greenish blue outline and then not making it too saturated) in photoshop, then it will simulate chromatic abberation by only effecting the edges of the frame like the bokeh
