Matching 12” wheels on a Honda Navi 110! New front tire!
If you hate that little 10” rear wheel as much as I do, you can replace it with a front wheel from #babbitsonline Waited for months for this to be in stock and it rides great!

Thank you! It’s definitely one of my favorite modifications.
Flip the nut and bolt setup so the bolt head is touching the engine. Then grind off the excess bolt thread on the bottom side.

Great idea, mounted it this way so it was adjustable while on the side stand. Turned around I had to lift it back on the center stand to readjust. So it was just easier this way. And probably temporary.
Hi great video 👍🏼 Do you think with some adjustments the rear fender can be used with the 12” wheel on the back?

I’m sure one could be cut and modified but I would probably start with something smaller if I wanted a rear fender.

How much did you have to grind for the rear tire to spin freely. I really want a taller and wider rear tire.

Not much at all for the stock front tire to fit but a bit more for anything else. I’m trying to wait until I have a wider rear wheel so the tire is stretched a bit and I’ll see how much room I have.
When you put the front 12 on the rear you left the rear hub on right? And just removed the 4 nuts/outter rim? I want to be double sure that the front hub dose not go on the rear.

The hubs can’t be swapped front to rear but the wheel/rim offset is the same.
Hey man I bent my rear rim on a pothole so air won't hold and need a replacement. I checked babbitt's and they don't have real wheels available. Does the front rim fit without any extra modifications?

Just to confirm you undid the 4 bolts and reused the center of the stock rear wheel/brake assembly with the new 12" front wheel? Thanks!

hello, I hope you can help me, I bought the same oem 12" front wheel and was going to use that for the rear. I also bought a 100/90-12 tire that I was going to use for the rear so that I wouldn't have to mess with the front wheel. Can I just flip the tire to change the rotation direction? because the tire I bought says "front tire only"? I hope that makes sense.
@xtramediumminimoto

If it’s the same brand and model of tire, I believe they are supposed to face opposite directions. I’m running a “front” tire on the rear of both my Navis due to the sizes available.

@@xtramediumminimoto does it rain a lot where you are? I'm worried about hydroplaning, do you think that could be an issue? or is it fine if you just flip the tires?
@xtramediumminimoto

Hydroplaning can happen regardless of tires if you’re riding faster than you should. I only ride one direction when it starts raining and that’s home.
Would 12 inch on the back help stability against wind?

I think lowering the bars to put more rider weight over the front end makes the most difference. But upgrading the tires definitely helps.

No, but that front wheel will come with an extra hub you won’t need. The new front wheel will bolt right to the rear hub. But you’ll need the shave the rib on the back of the dipstick and make an adjustment to the center stand.

Make sure they under stand that it has a drum brake and no chain. If they assumed it was a regular moto and they have to deal with a chain adjustment in the rear and disc brake in the front, that would be average labor. But the Navi is much simpler.
Honda designed the Navi with a smaller rear wheel, so it would have quicker handling and be more maneuverable. You're going to have very dirty clothes riding in the rain with no fender also.
@xtramediumminimoto

No, the smaller wheel is for ease of replacement. Mine is faster and handles better than stock. But thanks for your concern about my clothes.

@@xtramediumminimoto Your wrong. "WHY ARE THE TWO WHEELS ON MOTORCYCLES DIFFERENT IN SIZE? If you pay attention, you will notice that for most motorcycles on the road, especially the scooter, the front and rear wheel sizes are often not the same. Specifically, the front wheel usually has a larger diameter, but the width of the tire is narrower than the rear wheel. In fact, rubber tires began to be used on motorbikes in the 1800s, when the front and rear wheels were the same size. However, since the 1900s, professional tire manufacturers have shown that the same size of front and rear tires is not optimal for operation. To bring the best performance, the wheels often have mismatched sizes between the front and back, specifically. front rim size is bigger than the rear rim The front wheel on a motorcycle is a pressure wheel and has a navigation function, so when the rim size is bigger, the car has better navigation, especially the flexibility to operate on the uneven road conditions (such as sidewalk climbing, etc.). Of course, manufacturers also calculate how big the tire size is enough, not just the bigger, the better. In addition, the smaller size of the rear wheel increases the space between the wheel and the saddle - a condition to bring the trunk more spacious, so most scooters have wide trunks. bigger front wheels like the rear wheels like Honda Lead (with 37-liter trunk) with 12-inch front wheels, 10-inch rear wheels; Yamaha Acruzo (trunk 37 liters) has 12-inch front wheels, 10-inch rear wheels. And one more thing, this difference in size also helps to reduce the shock on motorcycles with longer journeys, which helps the car to be quieter during the operation, helping riders to be comfortable, especially on the long roads. Rear tires are usually wider than the front tires. While the front rim size is bigger than the rear rim, the rear tire is usually bigger than the front tire. It can be clearly seen that many vehicles such as Honda SH scooters with 100 mm front tires, 120 mm rear tires; Yamaha Exciter has 90 mm front tires, 120 mm rear tires. The reason is that the rear wheel is usually the main load bearing wheel on the motorbike, so the greater the area of contact with the ground, the better the stability and balance of the vehicle during the operation. In addition, wide rear tires also help the car have a good fulcrum to create stronger traction, better for the acceleration process for motorcycles. And aesthetically, the large rear tires often give the bike a boost and luxury, which is why the most high-end scooters often have rear wheels called "fat wheels." Naturally, in the navigational role, the narrower the front tire is, the more flexible it is to change direction. However, the front wheel needs better grip (with more spines and deeper grooves) because when operating on slippery roads in the rain, if the front tire is worn it is easy to slip and endangering operators. This is also the reason that regular disc brakes and ABS brakes are often preferred equipment for front wheels. Although the front and rear wheels have different roles during use, users should pay attention to periodic maintenance for both to ensure safety. source : danviet.vn/xe360/tai-sao-2-banh-tren-xe-may-lai-co-kich-thuoc-khac-nhau-1076258.html

@@nxdboi True, but the Navi isn't designed for high speeds. 50 mph is its top speed, and for that the wheels are fine. Bigger diameter wheels have more gyroscope effect on a regular size motorcycle, but they are not as maneuvarible at slow speeds.
