Regarding buyers name protection ... a friend a few years ago was ding-donging bids with just one other bidder. Price went up to £900 from 99p with only two bidders (stupidity in itself). The seller was a large model shop (who I won't name here) and the very large item was collection only. After the other buyer won, he dropped out because he said he was "unaware that it was collection only" and so presumably the item was too far away .... yet a bit of searching (when we were able to) revealed that he lived in the same city (most likely in the same shop). My friend then was offered a second chance at his own highest bid YET, as there were only two bidders, the shill bidders bids should all have been void and the highest bid would only be 99p. Now that we can no longer longer delve into the buyers history and location, this sort of thing must be rife now.

Absolutely. Hidden identities and scum bugs hiding behind user names does not help. There are so many web based scams and dishonesty it's unreal. Look what's happening here-the discussion is going to be endless on the bad experiences we all have had including myself and very recently! G

What makes those models so expensive? I have this model, same color, but different wheel, they just black, and the box looks also different. Sure that kind is worth nothing. Its strange to me!

Yeah, that is the common regular wheel version with BPW. If its turquoise with SF wheels then its a prime piece but unfortunately the vast majority out there are fakes due to this fraudster scum bag. My genuine model made 13k on the hammer which is a world record so goes to show serious collectors will pay a premium. I'll post this soon. G

Well, where do you want me to start? There are many ways but the main problem is swapping parts around such as wheels and base plates to make a so called rare model. G

@@nick74ish Well, don't get me wrong the majority are okay. You have to be very wary of rare models. Unfortunately I can't give you my lifetime knowledge or experience as that would take forever. If you are new to this I would encourage to join a Matchbox forum such as the Facebook one or the vintage British diecast forum where you can connect and gain knowledge more quickly. You need to know about the rare models first, then if you see one just ask us for opinions to whether its fake or not. You will see a list of scum bag faker user names which will help. G

@@nick74ish This is a very very very rare model. Most out there are fake or restored. You rarely see a genuine one and when they do expect to pay at least 5K for a decent example. My one made 10K on the hammer at Vectis auctions which does say something. G

It now seems more like you want to promote your own business for your own benefit. This is not correct and if you have a problem with eBay you should contact them.

I don't need to. I'm not hiding behind a bigger platform or username. I've been a full time dealer for nearly 20 years and have been very successful thank you very much. This is totally about exposing scum bag fakers and if I can do that with the community's help then that has to be good thing doesn't it? G
