My 3-year old loves MOTU Origins. Her excitement when she sees figures she hasn't got in a supermarket and deliberating over which one to get reminds me of being a kid in the 80s.

This origins line has been an absolute joy to collect. Hunting the toy aisles for these figures, vehicles and playsets for the last three years made me feel like I was 9yo again…..and seeing my kids play with and collect the same line of toys from my childhood was so much fun. I know the distribution was not the best, there was one wave that I never even saw in my stores but all in all this was a home run by Mattel. I’m a little disappointed that now I have to get the rest of the figures online that definitely takes away from the thrill of the hunt but I have to say thanks to Mattel for an amazing toy line.

Mattel is just all over the place with MOTU. Stuff only online. Masterverse from the cartoon and Masterverse on its own. Its nuts .

Glad to have this one back. Happy to hear you are revisiting the line. It’s a flawed line, but it’s been the one that reinvigorated my toy collecting interest after 5-6 years of not buying anything new.

As a pro origins collector unfortunately I have to agree with you it has been a brutal headache But gratifying when I look up at my shelve

Respect RetroBlasting for pulling this video down. The stuff they pulled with those Jp channels was bad. Mattel seems to have backed off the legal and are making great MOTU and Jurassic World toys. MOTU's biggest problem know is making major vintage figures exclusive to Mattel online.

Ah the memories! Getting castle grayskull on Xmas is a favorite! I hope you do an unboxing of the new snake mountain! But MOTU seemed to to in different directions with their TMNT crossover and those Netflix cartoons. But I'll admit the 10 year old in me gets a bit excited when I see the origins on pegs at target.... And Michael, a reissued video is just fine with me in my subscriptions...can't wait for the next origins vid!!!

I like the origins line! Not so much a fan of the Animated line and the Turtles of Grayskull are dumb as a box of hammers! My biggest issue with origins are the stupid exclusives and hoops to jump thru! Great video Michael!

This was good to watch again. That first wave was pretty exciting. Some of the cheap decisions with subsequent figures like Kobra Kahn and Mekaneck were ridiculous … but that new Sy-klone figure is a step back in the right direction.

I can still remember the day when I subscribed to this channel, and it was said, "Retro Blasting will only be about vintage figures." Guess there are only so many videos you can make about Kenner Star Wars action figures.

He never said that his channel would _only be about vintage figures._ Two of his earliest videos were the Matty Collector Voltron and the Toynami Masterpiece 20th Anniversary Voltron. Those were new toys back when he started his channel. He also talked about prop replicas that were new to collectors.

Wonderful video, reflects my feelings on the Filmation line (Which dragged me into Origins). I'm not a huge MOTU fan but love the originals and the filmation line is a dream, I hadn't bought Origins before then and it was a great place to start IMO.

Dang it,for a moment,I thought the eclipse had done its thing and opened a worm hole into the past, and I would be able to right wrongs using knowledge I had gained in the future,basically making me a super hero...Oh well,at least I can watch another great Retroblasting video once again.

The Filmation style figures are the first Origins I've bothered to get in ages. The upcoming Mer-Man in the TMNT/MOTU line looks amazing. I'll definitely be getting that one.

I've never seen anything past line 3 or 4 in my home town. I could be wrong about the lines but Buzz Off is still on my shelves at Walmart and Target

I love this line. My only flaws for it were four things though. #1 Waves 2 and 3. If you were able to find a Walmart that had these. It was bought on sight. Don't leave it behind or REGRETS will occur. #2 Preordering on toy shops to attain most of the rest. There were a few waves I found in person after the first one, but it was always a crapshoot. Why I always preorder to fully guarantee owning these figures.#3 The Wal-Mart exclusives. Not so much the Target ones. It's a joke finding Wal-Mart exclusives. Kicking myself in the arse not answering my phone when a friend found a bunch of Origins Moss Man texted me and I didn't answer at the time. When he went back they were gone. #4 It's become Classics 2.0 being on Mattel Creations. If you don't hit that preorder window whelp good luck on attaining the rest of the figures.

This video popped up on my, home feed, I think? Right at the top of my KZread app on my Apple TV, but whatever the case, I’m enjoying seeing it again!

It’s too bad this line never made it to retailers /s. It boggles my mind at how bad Targets and Walmarts have handled this line. 3 out of the 4 Walmarts near me never carried Origins and the Targets that did rarely stocked waves outside of the cursed wave.

I think this is one of your best videos. I bought battle cat and usually play with it with my daughter, she loves it.

I love the origins line but I have two things I don't like. One,I can never find them. Two, the colors are a little too vibrant making Man-e-faces and Trap jaw look like happy meal toys.

shoot 😡 how do me and my husband keep missing RB videos? We get updates but some how we keep missing your new videos! my husband grew up with masters of the universe and still has some of the figures. Our son and daughter loves the things their father collected.

I agree with the other comments. it´s absolute chaos to collect the masters lines. there´s ton of exclusives and delays and the quality is all over the place. masterverse has some great figures and some bangers like whiplash, snout spout and motherboard. then you have the very creative turtles of grayskull and a lot of motu i great. but you have to do real research, deal with scalpers and mattel itself to get everything. the crazy thing is that even the ebay sellers and bbts sometimes don´t have any idea when what is coming out. some characters are pegwarmers for 3-4 bucks, others can go up to 80

These were great figures. Was happy my son was into he-man for about a year and I got to buy lots of these figures and the castle again, relive my childhood playing with him with the toys. lol my one complaint is that the figures could barely hold onto their weapons. Seems that is a design hurdle they just can’t overcome 🤷‍♂️

I clicked so fast! Also, present-day Mattel is trash. My partner worked for their marketing team a couple of years ago and man, they refused employees discounts. Also, they don't care about what customers want; they have their own agendas. Btw, this showed up as new?

With the move back to online exclusive releases I'm not sure if it is possible to collect the remaining figures from the vintage line. I'm still hoping the two horde playsets and the rest of the vehicles get made but I know that's a huge ask.

It's safe to say that the line failed to attract new kids and hence Mattel has toned down the quality and fun factor on these

I bought a few He-Man figures in 2020-21 (we didn't call it "MOTU" 40 years ago... it was He-Man) - I admit to my nostalgia for toys my whackadoodle Baby Boomer Pentecostal Cultist parents wouldn't allow me to have as a child, because "He-Man is Satanic! GOD is the ONLY Master of the Universe! Bad child! BAD!!" What I ended up really enjoying? Was the MicroConstrux He-Man figures.

The Jitsu wave killed this line at retail. I think the last wave Target carried was the Mantenna wave.

The distribution for the past 4 years has been a mess. Waves shelfwarming, new waves showing up for 1 second. Mattel seriously needs to fix this.

I just received the origins Eternia playset but haven’t had time to put it together yet.

I have fond memories of MOTU as a kid. These don't exactly scratch that itch for me. The figures don't look as good as the originals IMO.

The figures are wonderful.but mattel is a bit misguided.theyre straying away from.origins and going to filmation sculpts,the origins have been moved to the Creations banner which means higher prices,but on the bright side,The Collector will finally be made!

Mattel lost me with the Filmation line that took over from the Classics line. I love the Filmation cartoons, and the Classics had many Filmation characters, but the later Filmation figures were too Toon Town to mesh with their predecessors.

Mattel have lost the plot, poor distribution on a toy line that people were clamouring for. Now a cartoon line, Origins is online only and not available for people overseas to order from. Glad I only am collecting just a few of the New Eternia figures now, I have sold off all the origins figures now because it's just too hard to get your hands on stuff.

I loved this line in 2020 but this line proved to be the biggest fall off in recent memory.
