2023 just found this out. Both my favorite records happen to come from the same family
First time I heard Louie Vega, I was about 16 years old and I heard him at this club on the west side of NYC called “Hearthrobs” which was the original “Funhouse” club. I met Kenny at “The Music Center” in Sunset Park Brooklyn where we were both born and raised at. I had two friends who were brothers and they both taught me to dj when I was about 17 and I would always go to the music center and buy tapes/records from there. Me and Kenny got real cool as the years went by to the point where I would go to the music center on a Saturday morning and Kenny would be in the back of the store with like 3-5 boxes of domestic and import tracks, he would see me walk to the back and he’d be like “you ready blow your whole check?” I would laugh and ask him “you got the treats”? He would laugh as well and show me the boxes of records that he just received. I would spend hours listening to everything that Kenny played till either I got tired or I knew I wasn’t gonna have enough money for all the records where in some occasions totaled about $200 - $300 on records and yes, 95% of the time....I spent my whole check, LMFAOOOOO!!! Great times and great memories. Big shout out to Louie and Kenny. True legends!!!

2 scientists of house music
God I love those guys! They Changed my life and I praise the good lord for uniting these two geniuses. I fell in love with House Music back then in the same time period because of Masters at Work and Todd Terry! The scene is not the same anymore and it is sad. No soul anymore ,I hope to see House Music come back to the feeling! Their is only a few still creating and these two are part of it.

Brian Moore Yes!!!! To me what I hear sounds all the same, remember when you can tell who produced what, you heard a track and instantly said, yeah that’s Loui or that’s Todd Terry or Keri Chandler, now I’m lost! Lol🤣 I just don’t pay too much attention anymore to who’s who in the game.
Love Nuyorican Soul! That whole album is awesome. Still listen to it this very day.🔊🔊🔊🔊

HOTRODDER50: Absolutely! Me too! Nuyorican Soul is a great beautiful record that sounds crisp and fresh today...and also its remixed version...
M.A.W. Legends. Period.
History teaches us that Disco started in New York City, House Music began in Chicago and Techno was born in Detroit. 3 major cities play different roles in Underground Dance Music. Enough of that! Master At Work are creative House genus till this day. They are legends in the House music genre. Enough Said!! #respect.
I was today years old when I learned Louie Vega made Deep Inside
I heard that debbie Gibson joint in the club & NEVER knew it was her! MASSIVE tune in New York City!!!
they are so humble that makes me nervous.
Cause of these guys I'm hooked on house & techno .... My first tape. Deep inside 1993 😀😀😀
No matter how many times you here "the ha dance" that bass and beat just takes over ur body. Lmaooo
Good lord, these dudes are cool... This is the second time I'm watching this, and I'm inspired all over again...
wow i had no idea he is related to Hector Lavoe. Hector is a ICON so NYC salsa music back in the 70's. Amazing artist.
absolutely brilliant, how the awkward/incorrect question, is diffused from lil louie vega and lou bega.... these guys are my music/dj heros. a massive section of my vinyl, cd and mp3 collection, stem from these guys. either they play the music, featured on a cd or have expertly remixed or produced it. their golden touch, flows over most things in house and dance history. just a quick note also. thanks to Alan Fearnley records, Middlesbrough, who always set aside for me, "EVERTHING" MAW. i wanted it and he knew i'd lap it up. top fella and i miss those days, skipping uni to go and search through the masses of vinyl and cd's. peeps don't understand how things were back in the day. no mp3's, you tube, i-tunes but there was always vinyl. glad these guys are still pressing forward with the vinyl media. long live MAW. definately the black gold of my sun....

Yep, the issue with me is, their tracks are so good, my library is very dominated by masters of work in regards to djing
Geniuses just true Masters as appropriately named. That Debbie Gibson track base and beat still slaps hard!! They are right with the point that people would pickup copies of an artists single if the b side had an MAW dub remix.
I love it! "Forget the vocal let me get the dub!" True Masters!!!! Love these two!!!
I remember all this..been a fan since the beginning
kenlou the bounce!
Huge fan of M.A.W. I have a few of their works. That Deep Inside is a pure masterpiece!! Such a great interview. I learned so much about them! 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟

these guys are genuine and LOVE the craft ... THANKS FOR INSPIRING all of us!
I'm from chicago and I remember when the Todd terry music started playing in chicago and we thought house was tainted because rap was flowing over the beat. It was something new and we didn't know what to think of it. Salute to Kenny Dope and Louie Vega Legends. Big fan.

Masters At WorK great artists & producers for House Music in the world.. So many beautiful emotions with their music, thank you ❤❤❤
Deep Inside is one of my favorite classic House jams. I have it in m collection and play it every chance I get! Thank you MAW!!

Interested to know who the DJ was who asked the vinyl question and current day process question
Can we talk about the MAW remix of Neneh Cherry Buddy X...🔥 Among so many others....
Close your eyes and Louie sounds like Steve Buscemi.
why dont say that the groove of deep inside was taken from "cloud 9 - do you want me baby"?
Oh please, anyone who tunes in here or are in the audience SHOULD be aware who Todd Terry is and he needs no further explanation?
i think Louie Vega remixed HIDEAWAY by ERASURE
What record are they talking about at the 1:05:00 mark?
