I've lost count of the number of people who have said to me, 'Bowling is an old man's game'. And I feel that is such a shame because this video and the couple of comments already here just shows it is far from an old man's game. All credit to these youngsters who are getting out and having a go. I do feel that some clubs are a little insular, a little wary of accepting youngsters. And yet there are so many clubs struggling for new members. I think more clubs should be holding open days where seasoned players are on hand with a spare set of bowls to go through the basic rudiments of this brilliant game. To give visitors a taste of the game. This is my first season and out of the 8 club matches I've played I have won half of them. And that's it with Crown Green bowling, it doesn't matter how good your opponent is, you can still beat him with your last bowl. SPREAD THE WORD! This is a great game and I've had the best summer yet of my retirement!

I'm 18 and I play, I'm very passionate about bowls. I came 3rd in Staffordshire lady's merits, and it's my first season. Aswell as playing for Staffordshire junior county.

Only game that is second to golf, that requires skill, touch, and total concentration "love it"
