I was having mild depression thinking my archery was not going to continue. I just love the bent stick.

.I can imagine what you had to go through, friend, in all that therapy to recover your archery skills. I THINK ARCHERY IS LIKE ANY SPORT: discipline, perseverance and, above all, knowledge of technique. I agree, the most important thing is not strength but perseverance and accustoming those parts that work with training and not just the parts that work, the entire body is also important to achieve a balance in harmony. The knowledge you transmitted is very interesting, friend. I was pleased to greet you. BLESSINGS.

Good video. Being over bowed leads to target panic and very poor shooting. Get stronger or shoot less lbs. A lot of us older guys are already shooting low poundage and for hunting don't want to go lower. Great video.

Hello Thad, good to see you at KZread again. I didn’t know about your neck fusions. That’s some serious and painful issue, I guess. I myself struggle with pain in my shoulders and for some time trained myself to shoot lefthanded, which turned out quite well. Until the other shoulder started hurting. Now I’m back at shooting right handed, but it still hurts. Guess I have to figure out some special training for my problems. Thanks for the personal information and good advice to daily training. This is the way to go.

Sorry Thad, forgot to wish you well for your neck. It’s hard to make friendship with pain as a daily companion. So I wish you to stay strong as well physically as mentally to keep up a positive mind. As a Christian I hope you find reconciliation and peace in Christ to overcome the daily hardships as they come.

Thad, Great to see you back. I've had health problems that has taken me away from Archery since 2017 that I really miss and love to to do. Hoping to get back this spring to shooting again. What is that black ban called that you have in the video?. Take care and LORD GOD Bless. Have a blessed week.

I have tried twice to reflex bows in the dirt. I dig a pit put in hot rocks water and cover it up. How in the world did people reflex bows before metal pots.

I am thinking more about west coast bows. How did they bend the bows besides the sinew. I saw the billy burger DVD but he used a piece of metal gutter I think it was.

Hey Thad, thank you very much for all your teachings. Got a question? Would it hurt my hickory selfbow to just string it up and pull it back to full draw a few minutes a day and hold it a few seconds then letting it down?

  • @BeckumOutdoors

Well if it's a well tillered bow it should not hurt. The rubber bands keep me from having to string up my bow, and I can take it anywhere very portable. But there is no substitute for shooting your bow.
