Just so you know, 3k coins won't be enough for global. That's only about 18 total remote Raids, and given a 1/20 shiny rate, you've got a decent chance of not getting a shiny. Plus, I imagine the fusion energy rate from raids will be pretty terrible. I recommend getting a lot more

Pertaining to Randall Island.... There is a very large migrant encampment located in Randall Island. This encampment holds only single men with no families. Randall Island has been experiencing a massive influx of crime and gang activity. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be careful while there, and everywhere in the city. Stay aware of your surroundings and do not display any expensive belongings. Keep important items on your body and out of reach of passers by. Be safe and have a great time trainers!!

Was this also there last year or is it new for the area? We didn’t feel unsafe on there at all last year. We took the ferry and I’m glad we did.

@Mel_in_PHX It officially opened last August but they recently expanded it and began having more problems, since there's been a lot more migrants coming in lately and the city is out of places to house them.

You mentioned travel to island: Last year I took Uber from Astoria, Queens directly to the stadium at Randalls Park and it cost about $17 plus tip. VERY convenient for an out-of-towner who doesn’t know to navigate subways or ferries. Dropped me literally at the entrance of the event.

If you get your goplus+ modded they put a switch in and when you have it in the modded mode it turns off vibration and the light on the main button.

How do you get to the ferry location?

Hoping the weather changes for that weekend as its 50/50 for rain.

I was able to do special trades after the event ended in both Sendai and Madrid. YMMV I guess.

For global go fest do we get the Sun or Moon research task for the lunala or solgalio encounter? Or is that in person only? Do we have to buy the ticket for it to get the encounter?

Unfortunately you have to buy the ticket for global go fest in order to get the extended branching special research for Solagleo or Lunala

Yup! I just commented that last year it dropped me right at entrance of stadium for $17 (from my hotel in Queens)

i dont get it with the necrozma fusion things do you not get solgaleo fusion energy in raids after picking (for example) the Lunala route in field research?

No if you go with Solagleo you get the solar fusion energy if you go with Lunala you get the lunar fusion energy hopefully this clears it up for you

@thatdovick29 yes you can get 1 from the research the thing with the raids you will only get Necrozuma and the fusion energy for the fusion you battled and Necrozuma candies and I think Cosmog candy but you will need Lunala and Solgaleo in order to get both fusions so basically you need 2 Necrozuma and 1 each of Solgaleo and Lunala and 30 each of Cosmog candy, Necrozuma candy, and 1,000 of each of solar fusion energy and lunar energy but depending on if you go the Solgaleo path or the Lunala path from the research you are guaranteed to get Solagleo or Lunala Necrozuma I'm not sure on I know at the in person events people got Solgaleo or Lunala, the candies, Necrozuma, and 1,000 of the corresponding fusion energy and I'm assuming that they got at least Necrozuma and candies from the raids I don't know if there was Dawn Wings Necrozuma and Dusk Mane Necrozuma raids because it was never shown so I'm assuming that they got the fusion from the path they took in the research and will have to wait until global go fest day 2 to go after the other or try for a better Necrozuma

When you talk about the "enhancement", is it only happening on Friday? Or will it happen on all 3 days?

basically niantic adds gyms and pokestops for the event so there are more raids and stuff all 3 days

Im so stressed for the week of global go fest. Too many shiny ultra beasts to focus on. The main focuses being the regional pheromosa and xurkitree for me, but i also need shiny nihilego and celesteela from before. Then you have necrozma during actual go fest. And buzzwole.. ill skip that one, probably just do the 2 daily passes ill have that day in person and focus on remote raids for the other two. I hate doing raids during the actual go fest because it takes time from spawns and the go plus ive heard notoriously makes you lose shinies even on ultra balls

Here's some advice if you want to use it each of the days leading up to global go fest will have a different ultra beast in raids and the raid hours on each day will feature the ultra beast of that day just focus on the ultra beast for that day in raids but also keep in mind that the Inbound from Ultra Space raid timed research will give encounters with all the Ultra Beasts they just won't have the special backgrounds we will be getting a chance to get from the 5 star raids we catch the Ultra beasts and Necrozuma from hopefully this helps you out

Only during day 2 of global go fest depending on if we go after Dawn Wings Necrozuma or Dusk Mane Necrozuma from the Dawn Wings Necrozuma raids we can get lunar fusion energy and from the Dusk Mane Necrozuma raids we can get the solar fusion energy

Not a chance. I want every step I take to be going toward hatching something. The additional stardust from hoarding eggs seems silly if you’re not hatching any eggs during the hoarding time. Aside from bragging rights, I don’t really see the importance of having the amount of Dust Billy has if he’s so stingy about using it anyway, though.

do not do the ferry unless you want to be trapped by the masses lol take the bus or walk There will also be 2x catch xp after 10 am on Saturday due to the global event

I don't understand why wild spawn Abra had one time chance catches only. Recently another wild spawn joined, Wimpod also has a one time chance catch. What reason for these two non legendary Pokemon wild spawn one time chance catches implementation? Niantic?! Nobody will answer me here.

To answer for Abra, it has a 100% flee rate if not caught within the first try; the same rate from the main series game. (Encounters from research tasks, raids, & rocket members don't apply)
