I bought 1 of those to use in my home, news flash, they're no good on a ceramic tile floor! You can't get any traction on that type of surface. I even tried cutting a square of silicone mat, the kind you'd put under a cutting board, etc, and it still slid out from under the doorknob.

This was what mine did ( also on tile floor, I tried putting a small square of carpet it still slide easily)

Try adjusting the size then kicking the bottom towards the door after you stick the fork underneath the knob

If you're having trouble with it sliding out easily try kicking the bottom towards the door after you stick the fork underneath the handle adjust the size

What about a field test you are thinking? Well just found this on another video so cut and pasted here: "Let me tell you guys this, first hand, in 2015 I was raided by the Feds and I had one of these security bars in place and it took them nearly 8 minutes to get into my house, the whole place was shaking sounded like an earthquake and finally the bar gave in and the door went down, I heard the dogs barking, I was detained, (released with out charge after nearly 24 hours) but man, that bar is really something definitely worth the $31.95 or whatever it was I paid for it something around there if I remember correctly. I remember that one federal agent telling his buddy "I would of hit the door twice and if it wouldn't budge I would of went through the window" oh, they also asked me me why my toilet was running... I said because I had to take a pee why else, got home the next day and everything was ripped apart literally, floor panels out of place, ceiling tiles taken down, everything in my cupboards thrown on the ground, couch cushions ripped open, dog prints all over the place but none the less that precious security bar really saved my ass for reasons in which I refuse to discuss on these forums." This review makes me more comfortable as I have been using this bar for some years and apart from pushing on the unlocked door with a friend inside I was not sure about a full on assault by a bogie man in the wee hours. The idea is they have to wake you up to get in - instead of one swift kick and they are standing in your bedroom with you asleep.

The one I bought easily slid and moved when tested from the other side making it useless at least when used on tile floor

Try adjusting the height then when you stick the fork underneath the door knob kick the bottom towards the door it will stiffen it up

Don't buy. the plastic part on this broke immediately off when someone was trying to get in.

After about 3 years of regular use, my door security bar by MasterLock is now wobbly and loose and doesn't remain in place sometimes (it slides out from under the doorknob) where, when new, it did not. Not desireable if the protected door adjoins another door or doorway to its immediate left or right, because the bar has to jut out 18 inches from the protected door, blocking safe passage in and out of the adjoining room. In my old apt, I almost tripped over the bar several times and actually kicked the bar out of position a few times because the bar was in the way. The above having been said, the bar does work. I tried to open my mother's house door, and it only opened about 3 or 4 inches due to the security bar being under the doorknob. The downside was that the door opened even that much. The bar needs to be longer (more notches) for doors with knobs and handles higher off the floor, which forces the purchaser to use the last 1 or 2 notches (holes). In those positions on my bar, it has too much wiggle space and the bar, though weighty, just feels flimsy. Still doesn't inspire confidence in me that it can withstand multiple kicks to the door nor repeated jerks to a standard doorknob, especially if the door can be rocked back and forth within the door frame. Note: shellacked wood floor in last & present apt.

Your putting the bottom to far out it will slide all the time put the bottom of pole closer to door really is common sense 🤔🤔👍🏻💯

I shouldn't be looking this up just to keep my grown ass adult self safe from my mother. She doesn't hit. But she doesn't know when I say I don't want to talk to her. I don't want to talk to her. As in, I don't want to talk about feelings that really aren't about working out our feelings about eachother and more of a excuse to just scream at me. So it would save my ears and my sanity the trouble by just barricading my door.
