    Hey, i got a question, my trial version is expired, and i'm decided to buy one license, however i'm up to buy monthly pay for 1 years, then stack money to buy the perpetual license, if i buy one, do i will be able to get harmony 17 18 etc or i will have to buy again a perpetual license for each update? thanks for the answers.

  • @Whimmery

    @Whimmery

    5 жыл бұрын

    Nemao , when you buy a perpetual license, you will need to buy the silver support which is like 250+ ish. And when toonboom comes out with a new version, you can get it "free" or aka- cheaper than buying the update. So each year you gotta pay the 250ish if you want the updated versions if a new version is coming out that next year. Bad news is, if a studio is using the older version you will need gold support to have access to the older versions too, cause silver support doesn't let you have access to the older versions you use to own.

    Hello. First of all, great video. My question is about the flipping issue. I am actually using the same technique as you to make to center points really close to each other to make the flip happen in that short range. It looks great while I drag the Master Control point around, just like you. But once I start animating and I make a keyframe with the character looking left and 3 seconds later, one with the character looking right (using the Master controller, of course), it still interpolates and squashes the stuff it's supposed to flip in the middle of the animation. Did you manage to figure out how to fix that? Do you have your fox character doing the whole flip from left to right, but not by dragging the mc on the same frame, but creating 2 keyframes on that Master controller in the 2 extremes? Thank you!

  • @Whimmery

    @Whimmery

    Hi Davi!. Remember that this is more of a pose copier rather than used for complete copy paste for animation. So it will have that flipping if you use one flip side and then the other and add tween. You need to manually add a key frame the last pose before the flip and stop the flip for the other side and turn off tweens doing the moment it flips. What will help is also have an invisible keyframe notes to tell you which frame is the one before the left or right flip. This way you know when to manually keyframe a section without tween and see it on the stage. (You can do this by making a drawing layer in the head node and have a remove transparency node on the drawing similar to an invisible handle)

    Can you upload Master Controller files into other projects? Also, can you give us a lesson on how to make different angles with one drawing and the deformers?

  • @Whimmery

    In theory, if you save a master controller with in group and save group to as a template, it should work for a personal computer. But there is a problem of having the master controller script being saved outside of the templates file. It will not work if you send template to somewhere else without the master controllers saved script file in the template folder.

    Dillon Wright I'm debating making a tutorial for making rigs with one drawing but I probably will charge for that lesson cause there is a lot more planning going on when building rigs with just one drawing. You have to preplan the design and what parts may actually need a swap like a nose if it is a complicated character, or how many premade parts can be hidden in different keyframes using z depth nudging, etc etc. But once the preplanning phase is done, it's all down hill from there

  • @Whimmery

    @Whimmery

    4 жыл бұрын

    You can change stroke lines but you may need to redo the master controller pending on how the rig was made, like if it has lots of deformers, and also which version of toonboom you have. Toonboom 17 has more options now that can make working with deformer rigs and “regular” rigs with little to no deformers easier to set up and change master controllers, when 16 was not as easy to navigate and make changes with

    Don't get discouraged! This is very advanced Toon Boom stuff. If you want to learn the basics of Toon Boom Harmony, you can look at their Learning Portal and go through those tutorials before attempting anything like this. Learning art and animation software is like learning a new artist tool or medium. Oil painting is different than printmaking is different from drawing, but they all use the same basic principles of creating art. If you can learn the basic principles of animation, you can learn Toon Boom or any other software. :)

    Yes, but it did not work. I managed to select each peg of separate members and then clicked on the master controller. However, when I complete the links between keyframes and control position and I click to create the controller, I can save controller on the node but it does not create the controller in the view, that is, that red ball to control.@@Whimmery
