Animating long clothing like skirts is extremely tricky in Cartoon Animator. In this video I show you my best method for making, rigging, and animating a long skirt on a character. Through the use of Cartoon Animator 5's spring bones it is possible to make a skirt that animates itself as the character moves. Note that this method does not hold up if your character is running with big strides but you may be able to use the concepts to come up with your own solution (and if you do please share them because I experimented a lot with so many different options to arrive at this long skirt rig).

When you say deform a body part can you let me know with a little more detail what you mean? What are you trying to achieve with the deform? Maybe I can create a tutorial video a little more specific to your question.

There's no way to make that kind of skirt without manually key framing all the animation to stop it looking bad. Believe me I tried everything to make a skirt that would automatically animate with no cuts in the side. Nothing looked good.

How to drive a car and ride a horse in CTA5. Generally, are these animations made separately?

That's an excellent suggestion for a video that I think I'm going to do next. To answer your question, no they aren't done separately. On a basic level you just link your character to the car or horse and, whenever the car or horse move the character will automatically follow. But there are some tricks for how to animate these things - specifically for horses and how to have the character have one leg behind the horse.
