    hey there, im just an apprentice so far. Can you please tell me what a direct drive means? Im currently looking into the FLIP and Mast Tour Pro. Tough choice atm. Also is there a video to better understand the strokes? thanks man. Great video!

  • @Tanstattoo

    @Tanstattoo

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for stopping by. What is your social media because I can send you a quick video on there explaining the difference between the both. Direct drive is usually a faster machine. Example, an eccentric wheel machine will spin at 9000rpm at 10-11voltz typically. While a direct drive machine will spin at 10,000rom at 8-9voltz. So with a direct drive you don't have to work slow, large tattoos don't seem so long and pulling lines is a walk in the park, also they don't vibrate as much. The downside is you can easily chew up skin because it is a much harder hitting system. Eccentric wheel is arguably a softer hitting machine and it's the type of machine that if you want to pack color then you better know what you're doing or you will find patches in your tattoo. Now you said the flip or the Tour pro? I would grab the flip. You get a far more superior machine with it's adjustable stroke. The flip out performs the tour pro in every aspect except one, linework I would pick the tour pro with the 3.6 or 4.0 cam if available for linework. The flip can pull bold crispy lines, but the mast tour pro can pull bold crispy lines like a hot knife through butter.

  • @ryansoutherland4265

    @ryansoutherland4265

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@edwincruz5298 It is just the way the machine pushes the cartridge's plunger. Direct drive machines have a small "piston" that push the needles. Vs. a sort of fan-like wheel that rotates over top of the cartridges plunger to push the needles. Hope I explained that well enough. However, using either is more a matter of preference than one being better than the other. Different machines work slightly differently so, it's more of finding what works for you and your style.

    Hey homie, thanks for the reviews. Question tho...does the flip line well? I'm trying to get away from coils, been getting tattooed and have been interested in tattoos since a kid, been toying with it here and there but I'm going full force now, trying to make it a career. Lol, anyway, trying to find 1 pen for all, mostly due to budget so will this flip push a 9 rl? If yes and in your experience will it even push a bigger rl or rs? Thanks in advance, I'm subbed! Are you going to do any tutorials? Thanks for the content. Stay dangerous

  • @Tanstattoo

    @Tanstattoo

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for stopping by 🙏. You mentioned you're a coil guy, short answer yes it can run a 9rl but the problem is that it is eccentric wheel rather than direct drive. I would definitely pick up a direct drive machine. Do you have what's app?

  • @Tanstattoo

    @Tanstattoo

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yes I'm going to be doing reviews on needles, and how to tattoo vids are coming up soon. Thank you for the sub. Back to the subject, the flip is more about flexibility rather than performance. If you're trying to pull larger thick lines then a direct drive is your best bet. The thing about eccentric wheel is that the motor spins a wheel and that wheel hits a spring loaded rod, that rod pushes the cartridge. So a ton of power is already lost, so rather than pulling single pass lines, you now have to build up the lines if that makes any sense. The largest I would throw at this machine is a 9RL and maybe a 15mag. You don't have to spend Flip money to get flip performance check out my video on the ambition ninja and ambition soldier. Both come with an extra cam so you can ask for a 3.5 (smooth black and gray realism) or 4.0 (color or heavy linework. Hope this helps and if you have more questions let me know.

    Thank you for stopping by, the flip is a very versatile machine, but it slows you down. The machine hits way too soft. As I use it more and more I have noticed more things I dislike about the flip. I honestly believe it does not have a 4.0 stroke. That said, I would take the lancer over the flip. I'm going to release a video today that I think will interest you.

    @@Tanstattoo mine came a few days ago, pretty smooth I don’t have the flip but I have the Valhalla. More play in the stroke adjustment. But I feel like it hits just as hard even without that extra .2 and it feels crispier on the lower strokes. And it’s weighted a lil better imo. Good buy.

    @@Tanstattoo thank you for responding! In Belgium the Mast Flip is for sale for 199€ and the Mast Tour Pro about 140€ so not a big difference. If the Flip is better than it will be worth it! Is it more versitile or what makes it better please?

    @@ingevansand9180 sorry for the late response, the simple fact that you can adjust the stroke on the fly makes the flip a superior machine. It doesn't put lines in as fast as the tour pro but it pretty much out shines it in every other department. The build quality is better, you no longer have to set up 2 tattoo machines because I'm most cases this will do everything.

    What up dude i bought the mast tour pro 7 months ago used it a couple of times on fake skin the stoped working, the part where you plug the battery came loose, then no customer service help at dragonhawk Yeah the mast flip might be good for a couple of hours but then mast machines start coming apart, your videos are fake because you get paid by dragonhawk

  • @Tanstattoo

    I wish I got paid by dragon hawk. Anyway, my mast tour pro is still running strong, check out my video on that machine. Heck I still have the very first mast tattoo pen ever made and I did more than a couple of fake skins with it and it's still running and that is a really poor quality machine. If I tell you to tattoo with dynamic ink and the tattoo gets infected are you going to blame the ink and accuse me of being sponsored by dynamic? I don't have brand loyalty that's a childish mentality. Did you not see the video where I say " The Ambition Ninja is still my favorite tattoo pen" Educate yourself before you make statements my guy. Thank you for stopping by.
