I use members mark laundry soap/ put in jar 1/2 laundry soap 1/2 water. Works great!

For those who can food, sevetal people on one of my Facebook groups found wide-mouth pint jars at their Walmart (in-store and online) for $9.97. It doesn't show up at mine for that price ($15.99). I was there this morning, but didn't look because I don't need jars at this time, but I may go back tomorrow and see if they are cheaper in store ... IF they have any. I haven't seen wide-mouth pints in about a year.

That hamburger is a good price. Its 5.99 here. Ill be happy to see soup weather again.

I use the Sam's club detergent in the orange container and I think it works as well as Tide.

If you can’t afford to store your meat with a food saver wrap your meat in freezer paper found at Walmart. You will get an extra 6 months out of it. Chicken maybe an extra 3 months.

Good advice, but the most basic Foodsaver pays for itself if you can lay out the money to start with. I buy rolls inexpensively online and I have kept meats for YEARS in the freezer and cheeses for a couple of years in the fridge.

Even better is to use the freezer bags he showed in the video. I am single so don't have any warehouse memberships. I wait until Glad freezer bags are on sale BOGO at the main grocery store I go to and stock up. They have Ziploc on sale BOGO too, but the Glad ones cost less and work just as well in my experience. I think I have about 6 40ct boxes of the quart size bags on hand right now which will last me a long time. I use them to portion out single servings of pot roast, pork chops, and the occasional steaks. I squeeze out the air when closing them and the meat lasts a year w/o freezer burn. I only buy ground beef when the two grocery stores I go to have 3lb chub packs of the cheapest, greasiest 73/27 beef for $9.99, making it $3.33/lb. I'll see 80/20 on sale for $3.99/lb every once in a while, but it costs 17% more for 7% more lean beef than fat. I'd have to be retarded to pay 17% for 7%. If you are making spaghetti sauce or chili or ground beef & sauteed onions in brown gravy the 73% beef is fine since you just have more grease to drain off. But you absolutely, positively don't want to use it to make something like meatloaf because it's so damn greasy that the breadcrumbs will soak up as much grease as they can hold and you will still have a pint to pour out after it's cooked. On the rare occasions I make meatloaf anymore I wait until the 93/7 beef is on "sale", which now means like $6.99/lb if I'm very lucky.

I can a lot of my meat but use my foodsaver as well as use freezer paper depending how long I want to preserve my meat. Canning supplies are ridiculous in price so I planned ahead and bought supplies a couple years ago that will get me through till 2026 garden season. That was an investment then at those prices. At todays prices 😳☹️ wow!

Good advice. Not everyone has the extra 75-100 bucks for a food saver. I love mine, but for years I just wrappped my meat as good as I could. Whatever we can do right? UGGHH.. No end in sight to these rising prices.

yeah apparently inflation has been going down, and is still slightly higher than they thought it was going to be?!?! But they are claiming 2.5% in the news. Yeah right. But food isn’t included in inflation cost of living stuff. It should be the main thing, along with rent that’s even counted.

We will not be renewing. We got an $8 membership two years ago and when we applied for their card, we got $30 dollars credit, so we were ahead $22. We let it renew last year, but not this year. It's about an 80 mile round trip and there is nothing nearby for us to go to very often. The prices are up, and we are stocked. I do very well with Kroger sales.

Doesn't look like any of us can buy beef anymore. 😢

@@BrianK-zz4fkYou got that right. They’ve worked really hard for years trying to tell us beef is bad. Now it’s bugs (and lucky charms ) are good. Our FDA isn’t here to do the best for us. I’ll always eat beef. Rather pay more for it and stock up with beef then all the other garbage being forced down our throats.

Thank you for showing the grass fed /finished organic. Note how low the inventory was. NE Fl is the same low level. Interesting how conventional and organic grass fed price difference is less than $.65 a pound. Time to try? Nice price on avocado oil. It has a smoke point of 390 degrees so it’s great to use for pan frying.

I was glad that Sam's got their Jasmine rice back in. It's still the best deal around at under $18 for 25 pounds. They had a lot more in their meat dept than normal. They are still the cheapest compared to Walmart, Publix & Kroger (NE Atlanta). Our Sam's doesn't have that arch yet that you mentioned. The whole reason we signed up for Scan & Go was to skip the long lines.

I'm not driving 2 hours round trip to shop at Sam's or Costco's. There are none closer. Gas is to expensive.

They lived in areas like Montana etc. Quilting was big out there. And our guild didn't like it either. The boycott worked, it was brought back they weren't as big as they are now. Now we have pre-cuts at high prices from China. The new mini Hobby Lobby doesn't have patterns, yarn is outrageous. They do cut your Expensive fabric to specifications though. No one item 40% off coupon either.

Regarding the charcoal...It just occurred to me that they could be vacuum sealed. I have never used a large bag at one time.

Same here. Last few months I was worried about how much I had put back that we were eating. Also, 2 adults and an 18 year old son (graduating soon) and a 21 year old daughter. She lives with us half the time and some of the time with her biological father. We like to host a gaming night every other week and sometimes that’s expensive (to me). Luckily, all our friends chip in with their own cooking to share. 😊

Where I'm at, brisket is around $200.00 for a 10# brisket. I'm in W.Central Nebraska. Its starting of smoker/grilling season and we get gouged badly.

Sales on whole and monster packs of rump round and chuck $3-$4 range every few weeks (not all at same time) saw $5 new York strip last month. Got cases of pints and quarts canned up for SHTF

Sam's has the ghost rider's and now the phantom scanner at the end. Hate to see the prices climbing up at Sam's like this.

Dan have you thought about picking up some side work with Favor or something? Like if you are going to Kroger anyway, maybe see if there is an order you can pick up and deliver. It may be a way for you to earn some extra money and possibly give us some inside information like maybe you will notice that people are shopping the online sales or picking store brands over name brands etc? Only an idea. Take care!

I highly recommend the Member's Mark Cookie Clusters. The other half introduced them to me, as her and her mom love them, and I have been hooked since. Not sure if they will work for long storage unless repackaged.

Good thing I don’t eat grapes anymore because my doc told me to keep an eye on how much carbs I eat. In a weird way, price increases have helped me steer away from unhealthy stuff. Now, as for higher calorie things such as butter 😅

BE FOREWARNED... That Butterfield Farms 4-pk of fully cooked ROAST BEEF is the saltiest food product I've ever eaten in my life! It's been on sale for a while now at Sam's in Houston for $9.98. I decided to try it Monday night to see if I should go get more. TOTALLY inedible for me because of the high sodium content. My blood pressure shot up so high that I literally packed an overnighter for an anticipated ER stay at the hospital. Will throw, yes, throw away the remaining three cans. I can not, in good conscience, even donate them to my church food pantry that serves our senior community. I kept wondering why it was so cheap. Now I know. 😢

@melmckane2913 that's a thought. But the salt totally permeates the meat. I'd need to boil it, and it's already pretty tender. A total crime 'cuz that beef is TENDER...

I'm having a sale in June it's our citywide sale. We will see how well we do because it's mostly antique items, no kids' thing's or clothing . I'll let you guy's know how well we did .

I use members mark laundry detergent. Less chemicals than tide and it does the job. My son lays stone and brick, concrete. He has to soak work cloths in a pre wash regardless.

Our Sam's is still very well stocked. I'm wondering if yours isn't a lack of supply issue and more of a lack of staff to stock issue? Our prices are rising too and a few things have just vanished.

Meat has a short shelf life- any store would do better lowering those prices because they will just need to throw it out anyways 🤷‍♀️

I think they’d rather toss it and write it off as a loss; seems like a terrible waste to me, especially when everything is so expensive 😢.

I have to share this .I bought grass fed antiobiotic free hamburger .It had hardly any Grease and tastes so much better than any beef .Going back in memories was like the older previous all beef .Try it its great .Nashville

I was at Sam's Club today and witnessed an older man trying to steal 2 large boxes of dog food that probably cost $50+ dollars. His register locked up and the self-checkout asked if he scanned the dog food. He said "yes." They caught him at the door and found that he lied. I was appalled at his behavior, but he didn't seem to be the least bit embarrassed about lying and stealing.

Walmart single paper towels went up 10 cents here in central Fl. Im headed to Sams for more canned chicken before price goes up. I currently have two freezers full.

Laugh if you want, but i baked treats, occasionally bought large bags of chips, and repacked them in zip lock type bags, which i washed and reused. I bought beef and put it through my grinder for hamburger meat....until Trump can get this country back on track, we have to rethink our needs vs wants.....

So many won't pay money up front to get a discount but for me it is a money maker. I am just shy of having $300 back and have a couple more months before i renew my membership. well worth my initial investment.

I go to Sam's every 6 weeks, and every 6 weeks, the price of beef is higher. I guess I'll be stocking up if we see a hurricane headed this way because I'm buying 50-70lbs of beef at a time, so I'm really feeling the price creep.
