Ive Owned 2 Pearl Kits, My First one was a Pearl Master's and The One I Own Now is a Pearl Reference Series Drum Kit. So I've Been a Pearl Drummer for Over 20 Year's. So Congrats Bro. Im Sure They Were Worth The Wait. Pearl The Best Reason To Play Drum's!!!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful drum set. I have been playing since I was 11 but because of things in life I had takin a break. I now have a home I rebuilt with my wife and am currently in the process of converting my garage into a recording studio. I am so excited to get back to drumming again and having sessions with friends like I use to. It’s so refreshing that your wife is cool with your drumming like mine is too. I enjoyed watching your video because the kit kicks ass and your genuine excitement to open your new kit. That’s how I felt when I opened my first nice drum set. I purchased a Gretsch Renown maple kit about 15 years ago. Tom sizes 8”, 10”, 12”, 14”, bass size 24” with Sabian studio cymbals, 13” sabian fast hats and 13” pearl mahogany Snare.

I hope to one day have a similar experience. I love Pearl Drums! I use to own a Masters (had to sell it) and an Export (gave it to a local ministry). I’ll get back there soon.

Why did you not get a power size snare drum ?? I always use a 14 x 8 or 14 x 7.

Great question. The Reference doesn’t offer one. However, surprisingly I a dream to the 14x5. It’s a nice contrast, and I love the sound. Maybe my next snare will be deeper.

Why did you choose Pearl for an over 10K drum set? Did you consider A DW or Sonor?

Hi. I didn’t choose Sonor because they don’t make a 6” tom tom. I was unable to speak with anyone regarding that so I eliminated them. I didn’t choose DW because it was difficult to communicate directly with them and have all my questions answered. I’ve played Pearl since 1990. I couldn’t dream of playing anything else. The quality is top notch all the way. Pearl was easy to talk to and answered all my questions in a very timely manner. A+ customer service!

@@PowerTom_kyle Interesting. You would think DW would have been really easy to communicate with for a customer who was going to drop big bucks on a huge kit! I love the 6 inch tom too. And as you know they are darn near impossible to find. Yamaha, Tama, Sonor, Ludwig, DW, Mapex, Gretsch....None of them would make you a 6" unless you were a big name artist I would imagine. But I did notice Todd Sucherman and KZread drummer Jeff Wald with a 6 8 10 12(i think) front tom set up. So I assumed on a Masterworks order kit they will do it for a regular customer. By the way I got my first 6' tom last year at age 60! Just had to get one before I drop! Crystal beat version.

why a 16'' rack tom with a 16'' floor tom ?!

Why not? There is a 2” depth difference from the rack tom and floor tom. There is definitely a sound/tonal difference. There is not enough rock kits like mine. I want to remind drummers there is more to drumming than small kits and shallow toms. This kit is FUN FUN FUN!🤩

What happened to your red export kit

I sold it last September. I didn’t have enough room for that kit and my brand new Reference kit. I do miss my Export. But this Reference is next level of craftsmanship that can’t be beat!
