Love the TV and Movie History Cars: Miami Vice, KITT, Starsky and Hutch, Ghostbusters, Munsters Hearse Coach, A-Team, Mad Max, Monkees, and even the Scooby Doo Van. Got'ta Admit Herbie and Speed Racer Car stand out for me with fun great childhood memories.
This video is amazing! Thank you for such an in depth tour of our Auto Museum. We appreciate you taking the time to film this! Thank you for visiting us!
Oh shit...it's the mach 5...loved that cartoon when I was kid...damn that brings back memories
Madd Max Interceptor WOW awesome !
In 1980 I flew out to L.A.X. to visit my brother and to buy a car to bring back to Illinois. In one of the Auto Trader papers were a couple of cars of interest, one of which was a Starsky & Hutch car. I don't know which one it was as you said there were six or seven cars built for the show. It was a well known fact that they beat the living snot out of the cars. The particular car that was listed had black California plates that read: 20 CENT I believe? It was listed at $2600.00! What a screaming deal! Alas, I bought a RoadRunner from up in Valencia. Always wondered who ended up with that car?
I love movie and TV cars.
Quite a collection. The Mad Max V8 Interceptor is always my favorite.
I've been here.

My favorite? Although I really liked the Monkees car, my favorite is the Starsky and Hutch Gran Torino. Something you could drive around in today and is still street legal and cool to drive. And a vehicle that a 60-something year old guy can still get in and out of without embarrassing himself.

I grew up with Starsky & Hutch!! Still have my remote control Torino with the action figures!!!😎💪
The batmobile with the read edge all around the car IS the original design of the ORIGINAL Batmobile from the TV show. Amen !
Matt, I'm the former Head Tour guide of the Dezerland Auto Museum, and I would be glad to answer any questions and supply you with behind the scenes photos.
Excellent presentation!!
I agree with you on the Miami Vice Daytona thoughts. There are not many moments on TV that I think of as iconic, but this one you mention is surely one of them.
😊❤😊 Buck Potter KZread channel we love this stuff keep up the good work thumbs up bro
Love the KITT cars best cars in the entire museum.

Love that Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino! I remember seeing several of them during my.High.School days in the late 70s! In 1973, "safety bumpers" became mandatory on all new vehicles causing a dramatic change in the appearance of the Toronto line! Even the 1972 Torinos looked really coo!. Just don't hit anything! Virtually no.front or rear protection! The Torinos looked fantastic in either 2 or 4 door models! The interceptor versions were widely used by Police Departments and were absolutely the most awesome looking Police Cars ever! Back then, the Fairfax County, VA Police had the absolute coolest livery (paint job) for Cop.Cars in the world!
Oh boy a Fantasy Island jeep
They had flashing lights in the DeLorean but no red light for KITT? They killed KITT! Also Ecto-1 is far to clean. Great collection.

I can still remember the Registration number of the Starsky's car 537-ONN . This show made me fall in love with America.🇬🇧❤
I've been to this museum and if you take the guided tour you'll be able to sit in a few movie/tv car replicas. These are the 1060s Batmobile(the one in the middle in "The Batcave"), Back to the Future DeLorean, Ecto 1, Brian's Eclipse from The Fast and The Furious(1). Yes the "skinny Batmobile" from the Batman Returns alley scene is screen used. They only built one. I told the tour guide I was surprised they shot that scene with a full size "vehicle" and not a miniature. If I remember correctly out of the 2 "Keaton Batmobiles" the closed one is from Batman Returns and the open one is a replica

If that's the original mad max car the blower isn't the same. You clearly see the name on the movie car and it's missing on this one. Great video. These cars are amazing. Scooby-Doo doo impression, right on.

@boroboroae86
8 ай бұрын
@@thecommodoredecker The interceptor in the museum is the real deal. It was poorly restored decades ago and that is why it has a lot of inaccurate parts on it. They only used 2 cars during shooting of mad max 1&2. The interceptor in the museum is the original one used in both movies. The second stunt interceptor which rolled over in The Road Warrior is currently in The Mad Max museum in Australia.

My understanding is that the protruding Super-Charger was not real; just for appearance. It was rigged so it could stay still, then be spun up with a switch. Just to look awesome. The whining sound was added in.post-production.

I don't think any road on the entire planet could ever be legal for a limo that long. You'd need the entire planet to turn it. That was a nice collection. The UK doesn't get anything this cool.

The last Batmobile you didn't know may be for early Batman serials from 1943.

20:12 There is a 1974 Ford Gran Torino Starsky & Hutch lookalike currently for sale in New South Wales, Australia - $79,000 aud and it's all yours.
Some beautiful vehicles well worth a visit
The old Striped Tomato, the only car that can screech the tires on dirt, can sound as if it is accelerating through second and third gear not only that it's an automatic car but with the brake lights on. The greatest miracle of all was that after those landings front end heavy landings that would make the car buckle so bad that the hood would break the windshield, it would heal itself and drive away.

Hi . Thanks for video. The mad max interceptor , which i believe though my research to be real , needs to come back to Australia where it belongs and restored once and for all as used on screen. Not left in the poor inaccurate condition it is now.
Lots of cool stuff but honestly more of a replica showcase than actual museum
It is my understanding the Tucker was the very first vehicle to have seatbelts installed.
Great video, in Hershey PA there is the Antique Auto Club Museum which has a Tucker wing. In that section the have a few of the cars including #1. A sight to see!

Years ago I seen a 1974 a steering Ford falcon XV in St Louis . Game repairs at my cousin's repair shop
Props to the Dean Jeffries- designed Monkeemobile. Worth checking out the history of the Monkeemobile.
First I'd like to say that I enjoyed this video. Second, about the Tucker; the flat 6 is a helicopter engine. And just pet peeve of mine, it's irritating that so many people call it a 'Tucker 48' when it's actually a 1948 Tucker Torpedo.
Class A production brother, so much thanks !
Does this place have a General Lee on display or did they give in to the PC Nutzis? Apart from that glaring omission and a completely wrong version of "Christine", this looks to be a neat museum. Do they have a partnership with the Volo Museum in Chicago, I've seen a version of the T-3 Hearse there too. Looks like they a ha HUGE collection of BATMAN related cars. Thanks for posting.

Quite a few of those cars used to be in a car museum over here in the UK
Dean Jeffries created only 2 “1966” Chrysler Imperials for the TV show. George Barris did a later version of the TV car as well. 1966 was the 1st year of the 440 motor replacing the 413 engine. 1965 Imperials were used for the 2010 movie. 67’ Imperials were a whole new body style.

Most use to be in the cars of the stars. He sold a lot of the replicas (the James Dean porsche being one) to concentrate on screen used. The mad max falcon is the only screen used one, it was altered after mad max to the car you see in mad max 2. Also the KITTs... The t top was screen used and given to the Hoff after filming ended, and the convertible was te only full car made, the one you see converting is a shell on a trailer. I use to visit Peter Nelson museums often and got to know the history of the cars quite well. Ive even sat in the screen used Keaton batmobile!! BTW the batmissle car, where it stripes down is a mick up, in the film it was a scalled down miniature 😊
The original monkey mobile had a working blower, but the car was so fast on the street. They had to take it off and use a fake blower as a tunnel ram instead, this was told by the Monkees themselves on a the TV show. Yes, the parachute did work too sadly too fast for the street lol.
The original Starsky car had a bench seat for 1st season but David Soul hates the seat so the rest of series used bucket seats. The original would have bench seats.
No General Lee? No Fall Guy truck? No Wraith car?

The original Batman car was a Lincoln Premier factory show car. George Barris just modified it and changed the color from white to black.
