I typically would set my cams up around 8 ft aimed down to try to reduce glare. I suggest finding a direction without the risk of glare and more importantly without any bushes that might trigger it from wind otherwise you have 1000 pics of a bush moving in the wind and it'll be dead before it has a chance to do its job

Always good when your finds cover your fuel costs of coming and going. Often out metal detecting, I would just find enough face value coin to pay for the batteries used to find them, but not often the cost of the fuel too. At least now, the batteries are rechargable and maybe in the future, an electric bike, maybe making it more then just a hobby. Fingers crossed.
