People are ridiculous about not sharing FOBs. One game, the enemy managed to fly some blackhawks behind our lines and spotted mine and another players FOB. So we both used a little of another players FOB. So he started team killing our arty with bombers and screaming at us in chat. Absolutely ruined a nice day I was having playing the game

OpFor should have know that SAS are close-quarters only. If any of you run into that situation either keep cqc units obscured near the back line or push them waaay up next to the enemy; which with SAS is unwise without hard infantry support, but they start shredding at cqc if they aren’t against engineers and within their range. Treat these units as supreme auxiliary units, and surround them with proper infantry, then micro them to take out hvts

12:25 reminds me of that scene in one of the World in Conflict trailers where a Hind pops around a corner just flying right on the deck. (only video of it I can find on youtube seems to be "GAME * World in Conflict: Soviet Assault * HD * Launch Trailer")

2:10 Ok, this is literally my first two minutes watching this game. I had not Heard of Warno before I discovered your channel a day ago (watched the video where you sold Steel Division II) I've been an RTS fan since I was a kid and only just recently began rediscovering my love for them in the form of the Total War franchise. So, this is my first taste of a more modern RTS game like this, and it looks sick, the graphics and scale have expanded immensely from my younger days in Halo Wars. But this scene I cited seems WAY overboard. Literal simultaneous fire from every building to every other building? it looks nuts but I feel like its taking away the tactics that I tend to enjoy in an RTS like total war. My first feeling was that the number of units just needs to drop in a game like this 10 v 10. this picture makes it look a rediculous run and gun COD scene. Is there a mode or rule that can be put on a game to slow it down? From my perspective it feels like the units they are battling in the city right now have no meaning or value. They will die and it's ok because they will be recycled. I suppose what I'm getting at it a game like SQUAD a tactical military simulation game. some servers have a one life component where two half ish companies of men fight over control over a map or objectives. making one strategic mistake was fatal for the game, because the unit or advantage that was lost could not necessarily be replaced. MoiDawg does crazy cool top down commentary of these squad games that really makes it feel like watching a RTS game like this except each engagement can make the difference Maybe I speak of imagination, but an RTS with those high stakes could be exhilarating. With a long setup and skirmish that leads up to a large brawl. that may be only half this size, but it doesn't matter because more guns and explosions doesn't always make it better. Maybe it is a bad first impression, but it feels like the chaos I saw in the first two minutes of the battle waters down the Strategy in RTS. Are there such thing as Real Time Tactical games? idk if this makes sense I just ended up spewing some thoguhts. Love the videos so far though Vulcan.

I haven't played Warno but I have played its predecessor, Wargame: Red Dragon so, assuming that it's the same mechanics, I can try to answer some of your questions. At 0:37 there is an example of a battlegroup that you can customize. The x3, x20, x2, x2, etc. at the bottom left of each unit is the amount of that unit that you can spawn in a game. Once you spawned all of them then you can't spawn anymore. Each unit while having limited health, also has limited ammo and fuel. All three of these can be replenished through an FOB or supply vehicle, which in return has limited amount of supplies. So all in all if you are wasteful with your units, you'll run out of units to spawn, you'll run out of supplies, and the units that you have spawned won't be able to move without fuel or shoot without ammo. I don't know how it works but 10 v 10 lobbies are sort of like preset lobbies. Like a regular person can't just create a 10 v 10 lobby. Regular lobbies go from 1 v 1 to 4 v 4 (or can be asymmetric like 1 v 4) and you can have bots as players. 10 v 10s are all human players. So you wouldn't be wrong to think 10 v 10s are ridiculous. They're supposed to be. Some games can last for hours.

Late reply, but important to note that in this scenario, 2 players from each side have funneled their entire opening forces into a compact urban area, so yeah the fighting there will be intense but that is an exception for the game, not the norm. "From my perspective it feels like the units they are battling in the city right now have no meaning or value. They will die and it's ok because they will be recycled." Armies have limited units, for example the SAS at the start of the game was a really bad loss for his opponent, probably why the player ragequit shortly after the opening skirmishes. None of those units are replaceable. "but it feels like the chaos I saw in the first two minutes of the battle waters down the Strategy in RTS." Players can give orders to their units during deployment, before the battle starts, so what you saw wasn't chaos or a click-fest, all of those units had their orders before the fight started and were moving to pre-selected positions.

They really need to nerf artillery rate of fire and accuracy imho, there is TOO MUCH in 10v10s. The fact that it can level out cities and is such RNG dependant is kind of trash. Artillery should only be able to be used to: 1. Dig out entrenched enemies 2. Clear paths 3. Smoke advance 4. Force enemies out As it stands, it's an INTEGRAL part of the gameplay. When it should actually (imho) be a minor support unit with niche uses. Sure you can counter-battery, but you can immediately move after firing every time perfectly which negates that. So it becomes this boring battle of shoot and scoot, adding unnecessary annoying micro. Use it? Boring. Don't use it? You're boned. I like all other combat in the game and the way you need to know even infantry interactions, but I hate arta.

Warno is way too fast to be a simulation, it also lacks the tactical depth. It is all about how fast you can click per second... I did not enjoy playing it really. I am also hoping that "Broken Arrow" is different and has more tactical depth. Also hoping that Broken Arrow gets released this year, there is nothing about it lately.

i am not complaining about micro, i am complaining about tactical depth and speed. also maps, movement, infantry are all really cheesy and flat in WARNO. Infranty is weird and feels somehow uncontrollable, maps are all the same, acceleration and deceleration is not realistic at all@@Bonqiqi. In fact the micro should be in tactical depth not in how many click per seconds you can make. There is a very small community (around 40 players world wide) that plays sudden strike RWM mod since the 1990's until now. I was part of them, we are ranging from 20 to 75 years old, that game is 2D but it is way more fun that WARNO and games last 4 hours sometimes
